Second look at dog-eating?That’s the biggest lead he’s had against Romney dating back to last August. Follow the link and scroll down and you’ll see that it’s independents who are driving it, flipping from a 45/39 split in favor of Mitt 10 days ago to a 45/43 in favor of O. Gallup reasons that a dip in gas prices must be behind it, but the dip we’re talking about here is roughly five cents in the national average. Hard to believe you’d see a poll effect this dramatic because of something as meager as that. I think what we’re looking...

April 24, 2012 Rep. Steve King torches Obama admin’s selective enforcement of law for political and racist reasons The Right Scoop During a press conference on SB1070 today, Rep. Steve King ripped the Obama administration and the Justice Department for selective enforcement of the law solely for political and racist reasons. After citing example after example of how the Obama administration has done this, he went to the nub of it and spelled it out rather bluntly for the press: There’s a political motive for this and it should be very clear to all of us. It’s not a mystery!...

We could probably make this a daily installment, although I'm not sure I have the bandwidth to keep up with the DNC Chairwoman's endless distortions. Her latest whopper came on CNN this morning, during a spat with conservative contributor Will Cain:  Ignore, for a moment, the crux of their dispute, and focus on this snippet:  “I’m a member of Congress in the minority, unfortunately, which I plan to help change in November,†Schultz shot back. “But the people who control the agenda right now in the House of Representatives are the Republicans. Ask them why they haven’t brought...

Obama Administration Honors 78 Schools for Educating ‘Tomorrow’s Environmental Leaders’ By Penny Starr April 24, 2012 (CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration on Monday recognized 78 schools across the nation for their efforts to promote a “green” environment – and train budding environmental activists for “jobs of the future.” "Science, environmental and outdoor education play a central role in providing children with a well-rounded education, helping prepare them for the jobs of the future," said U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan. He schools that focus on the environment can help students build “real-world skillsets.” Duncan – along with EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson...

Roman Catholic leaders are calling for two weeks of public protests against President Barack Obama's policies as they intensify their argument that the administration is engaged in a war on religion. The days between June 21 and July 4 have been set aside by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops which has sought to end the administration's contraception mandate, among other policies. The protests against the Obama administration’s policies could be “the game-changer” in the presidential election, one leading lay churchman told Newsmax on Tuesday. The protests, dubbed “A Fortnight for Freedom” will be an “unprecedented, aggressive attack” against policies...

Predictably, Nancy Pelosi applauded Rep. Bobby Rush when he donned a hoodie on the floor of the House to show his solidarity with the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the Black Panthers, in their calls for George Zimmerman’s head on a platter. Meanwhile, back in Chicago’s 1st congressional district, home to Mr. Rush, during one recent Thursday night, 13 people were shot, two of them fatally. I understand that the shooters all wore hoodies. I trust that Mrs. Pelosi can provide Bobby Rush with an alibi. In the meantime, in the NCAA basketball tournament, the Final Four consisted...

Gov. Bill Haslam signed into law today his reform of state government employment practices. The Republican governor held a signing ceremony this morning for the passage of the Tennessee Excellence Accountability and Management (TEAM) Act, one of the major components of his legislative agenda this year. Some business leaders pushed for the measure, saying it would improve regular and often expensive interactions with state government, though critics cautioned against political patronage.Lt Gov. Ron Ramsey, the Republican head of the Senate, followed the signing ceremony with a statement applauding the law. Republicans were generally supportive of the measure, though it was...

The Marine Corps said Tuesday that it is taking another step toward allowing women to serve in combat roles. Gen. James Amos, Marine Corps commandant, said selected groups of female Marines will get combat unit assignments later this year as part of a study on the appropriateness of women on the battlefield. Amos announced the initiative in a message posted on a service website. The program calls for assigning women officers, gunnery sergeants and staff sergeants to combat artillery, tank, amphibious, engineer and assault units. Current law restricts women from serving in direct combat in all but a few assignments,...

WASHINGTON -- On the eve of the Supreme Court’s hearing of the Arizona immigration law, a top Democrat vowed to take congressional action if the high court upholds the state’s tough-on-immigration statute. The proposal from Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) would surely extend the immigration debate and touch off a states’ rights fight with strong opinions on either side. Should the court uphold Arizona’s SB 1070, Schumer said his proposal would prohibit states from enacting or enforcing their own immigration law penalties unless they are working in concert with the federal government. “I believe it is simply too damaging to...

Apple Inc (AAPL.O) on Tuesday reported quarterly revenue that handily beat Wall Street estimates, driven by strong demand for its iPhones and iPads, sending its shares 3.5 percent higher. The consumer electronics giant said its fiscal second-quarter revenue rose to $39.2 billion, better than the average analyst estimate of $36.8 billion, according to Thomson Reuters

www.FinancialSurvivalNetwork.com presents Nick Santiago of www.InTheMoneyStocks.com joined us again for a wide ranging discussion about making money in the stock market. According to Nick's methodology, increased volatility is good for increasing investment returns. This means being able to follow the Fed's shadowy hand when they buy bonds and distort the market. Accurate charting is the key to following the moves. Buying gold, silver and perhaps some well valued real estate with your trading profits will help you go a long way towards the gold. Trading is not for everybody, or even most people, but if you have the right temperament...

Photo by James Baca/Denver Catholic Register DENVER, CO, April 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Prayerbooks, rosaries, and pro-life pamphlets are a common sight outside Planned Parenthood’s massive facility in downtown Denver, but this year, local organizers of this spring’s Forty Days for Life campaign decided that one last piece was missing to bring the light of Christ to the country’s second largest abortion facility: the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The idea to celebrate the Catholic Mass in front of Planned Parenthood came from Fr. Joseph Hearty, Assistant Pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in nearby Littleton, who felt...

(edit). Here's the full email from Hammond. Three scenarios: 1. Doomsday -- We do poorly in Delaware, Gingrich will keep his campaign schedule in North Carolina but reassess with supporters whether or not there is a path forward. 2. Middle ground --- a razor thin win for Romney in Delaware could show cracks in the armor and coalesce a conservative coalition of supporters behind Newt. 3. Break in the Dam --- A win in Delaware builds financial and grassroots momentum going into North Carolina -- combined with the ABC news report that Winning our Future has $5 million to spend...

John Edwards apparently didn't think too highly of his mistress. According to testimony Tuesday from Edwards' former top confidante, the ex-senator didn't give himself great odds when he doubted that he was the father of Rielle Hunter's unborn child. "He said that she was a crazy slut, and it was a one-in-three chance that it was his child," Young testified. Whether or not those were the odds, Edwards made a bad bet. After denying for months that he was the father, even after he copped to the affair, Edwards has acknowledged paternity for their daughter who is now 4 years...

While the full picture remains far from clear, signs of the ill effects of the Democrat-initiated law allowing homosexuals to serve in the U.S. military without hiding their sexual preference are beginning to appear. The newest reports, for Fiscal Year 2011, have just come out, and Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, immediately noted that sexual misbehavior is on the rise. In December 2010, Congress repealed the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy established by President Clinton that allowed homosexuals to remain in the military on the condition they not make a public issue of their sexual lifestyle....

LONDON, April 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Catholic nurse in the UK has won her case in a dispute with her employer, an NHS trust in the Midlands, that was demanding she work in an abortion facility. The Catholic Herald reports that the woman, who has not been named publicly, was being required to work in a “Termination of Pregnancy clinic” attached to the hospital, and had cited the Abortion Act itself as her defence. Legal experts defending the rights of conscientiously objecting health care workers facing abortion-related disputes have pointed out that the Abortion Act contains a clause allowing...
