It was his time to go. A 31-year old Bronx man fell to his death this afternoon while defecating between subway cars on a moving number 6 train, cops said. The House on Tuesday evening approved an amendment to a huge Hurricane Sandy relief bill that adds $33.7 billion to the bill, nearly tripling the size of the main bill. Members approved the amendment from Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-N.J.) in a 228-192 vote. It was opposed by 190 Republicans, but 38 Republicans joined 190 Democrats in support and allowed it to pass. One month after the school massacre in Newtown, Conn., President Obama attributed the recent surge of weapons sales to efforts by gun control foes to arouse fears that the federal government would seize firearms. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says it's notifying about 5,000 people after an employee accessed their driving and motor vehicle records without authorization. The agency said in a statement Tuesday that the employee is no longer employed by the DNR. Spokesman Chris Niskanen says he can't elaborate on that. The DNR says it has asked the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate. No charges have been filed so far.
