February 21, 2013 Shotgun Joe Inspires a Great Idea: Free AR-15! Joe Wurzelbacher It’s not often that Joe Biden inspires a great idea (unless you’re talking about late-night comedians) and mostly he just makes you wish he’d shove some pie into that pie-hole and stop talking for five minutes. But stick with me. You’ll want to hear this:Barack Obama has made the Vice-President the point man in his Gun Control Task Force, or as I like to think of it, spearheading Obama’s pathetic and cynical play on the Newtown massacre to deny law-abiding Americans their Second Amendment rights. Listening to...

Good news Detroit: We’re #1 again! In a head-to-head contest with real contenders like Chicago, New York, Cleveland (At Least We’re Not Detroit!) and Atlanta, Detroit once again grabbed victory through the misery of defeat. Numero uno on Forbes Most Miserable City in America.  Heady stuff for a city on the verge of insolvency and far beyond societal breakdown. Much should be made of the fact that Detroit, along with the other top-10 miserable winners, is reaping the fruits of decades of liberal husbandry. Unfortunately all that carefully cultivated fruit has been left to ferment on the ground. Oddly, few...

Austin, Texas – Leaders from several Protestant denominations met with representatives from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops last night to sign an ecumenical document agreeing to recognize each other’s baptisms. The document, entitled “These Living Waters: Common Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Baptism,” has been approximately four years in the making. The Presbyterian Church USA was reportedly the first to deliberate the move, followed by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.“The Common Agreement affirms that both Catholic and Reformed Christians hold that baptism is the sacramental bond of unity for the Body of Christ, which is to be performed...

GOV. BOBBY JINDAL (R-LOUISIANA): My recommendation to the president is it's time to stop campaigning. It is time to actually do the job here in Washington D.C. In our second term, for example, last year, we passed one of the most sweeping educational reform laws in the country, giving real choice to our kids, putting right teachers in the classroom. We're forming our tenure laws, letting the dollars follow the child. This year, like my colleague, we're proposing tax, significant tax reform. We've got different ideas about that. We're trying to get rid of the income tax in Louisiana. My...

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Three days, maybe a week. Three weeks ago, that's how much time doctors gave Mitch Zannette to live. Three days, maybe a week. What can you do in that time? How do you say goodbye to everyone and everything you've ever known? How do you close off a lifetime? Three days, maybe a week. If you know what you want out of life, it's enough time to write your own last chapter. So last week, Mitch Zannette checked himself out of hospice and headed to Florida to see the Daytona 500. He made it to the...

50 Cent Sees 'No Black People' At Daytona 500 DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Give NASCAR credit for this, the racing circuit continues to attempt to diversify its fan base. Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson signs autographs prior to the Daytona 500. (Getty Images) This year, in a continued effort to show racing fast cars should appeal to more than just its traditionally white fan base, the circuit brought in African American celebrities such as recording artists 50 Cent and T.I. and future Hall of Fame NFL star Ray Lewis to the Daytona 500. It's a long way from the traditional...

With her escape-artist antics now caught on video, a horse in Michigan is being dubbed the "Houdini Horse" thanks to her knack for opening stall doors. The 9-year-old horse named Mariska somehow learned to open latches at Misty Meadow Farms near Midland in central Michigan. The farm's co-owner, Sandy Bonem, posted a video online of the horse opening numerous locks. It catches how Mariska lets herself out, then unlocking stalls for other horses -- just not her mother's.

There are two kinds of scientists in this world -- those whose discoveries will lead the planet into a new era of enlightenment, and those whose research will inevitably be stolen by terrorists who enjoy dressing up as snakes. This article is dedicated to this second group, those whose groundbreaking findings will someday be appropriated by a cloned Nazi dictator in purple tights and transformed into a super-weapon aimed at a trussed-up Captain America's crotch. Remember the State Department had no money for Benghazi security because of the mean GOP. But it can always seem to find huge chunks of cash for really stupid things like this. This “Hope” nonsense smacks of an extension of Obama’s permanent campaign and it’s largely meant to fool Americans into thinking that matters in Afghanistan have improved so much that the departure is not a defeat. That makes this expensive propaganda boondoggle of dubious legality and obvious uselessness. The U.S. Embassy in Kabul plans to spend up to $250,000 in taxpayer money on the creation of a website that...

I was driving home from work on Friday and I noticed a building that seemed to be the campaign headquarters for Dan Miller who is running for Mayor of Harrisburg. Seeing the campaign headquarters prompted me to think about the upcoming election and the situation in Harrisburg. While I do not live in Harrisburg, plenty of my tax dollars go to Harrisburg and cities like Harrisburg (through state and federal taxes). This is a profile of Harrisburg and the candidates for mayor in the upcoming election. I am certain that there are very similar circumstances in many cities across America.DemographicsPopulation...

'Vulcan' could be the name of Pluto's recently discovered moons. The name, which Star Trek fans will know as Spock's home planet, is currently leading an online poll which could decide one of the two 20-30km moons discovered by the Hubble telescope between 2011 and 2012.

ST. LOUIS (WFIE) - Some women in St. Louis are ready to take aim and fire if confronted by an attacker, but their weapon of choice isn't a gun. Instead, they're turning to a common household product to protect themselves. It's barely seven bucks, but it makes Joy Gridnick Christensen feel a whole lot safer. "And we keep it right here so if you came to the counter with the cash register I would just get this on you and zap you right in the face," said Christensen. As owner of the Fountain on Locust, she's armed all her employees...

Think Windows 8 is a usability nightmare? Two pilots of the infamously expensive F-22 fighter jet recently went on 60 Minutes to describe how this “phenomenal, phenomenal machine” poisons its pilots’ air supply in the course of normal flight. But the plane is also smart enough to land itself with no help from its passed-out pilot. This is UX design by way of Brazil: the human interface is so bad that it actively tries to kill you the entire time you’re using it, and so good that it can deliver your comatose body back to safety with no help from...

Guest Post by Mara Zebest A video posted at the end of 2012 (a couple of months back) is gaining some steam now due to the current gun debate. A Facebook posting offers the following overview: You will LOVE this video! Share it if you want MORE people (including policemen) to understand this! Watch what happens when a policeman illegally stops a law student for carrying a gun… and the law student schools him on how he’s broken the law.

A recently issued report by the Government Accountability Office says that the federal government is on a financially unsustainable course. The debt is so large that the anticipated annual interest payments are expected to exceed the economy’s rate of growth. The government would have to run annual budget surpluses just to maintain its current debt to GDP ratio. Despite all the publicity being given to the so called draconian cuts envisioned by the sequester, there are no actual cuts to spending. At best, only the rate of growth in spending would be slowed, but not by enough to generate a...
