The National Boy Scout Jamboree ended, Wednesday, and President Obama broke a quasi-tradition by declining to address the Scouts. The quadrennial event has been held at Fort A.P. Hill near Washington D.C. since 1981. This year's event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the organization. In lieu of an appearance at the 10-day-long Jamboree, Obama appeared on the View, attended several Democrat fundraisers and visited Detroit. He did send a short videotaped message which reportedly was shown in a mix of several other presentations. When the president appeared he was roundly booed by the 35,000 Scouts, one man who was there...

Film critic Roger Ebert is never shy with his opinions, be they about movies or otherwise. But after criticizing five California teens who chose to wear clothing bearing the American flag to their high school on Cinco de Mayo, Ebert has faced a particularly angry backlash. On his Twitter account, Ebert, whose battle with thyroid cancer has disfigured his appearance and taken his voice, wrote the following: @ebertchicago Kids who wear American Flag T-shirts on 5 May should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer and sickle on 4 July. Ebert's words set off a...

Gay rights protesters interrupted President Barack Obama's speech at a fundraiser for California Sen. Barbara Boxer (D) Monday night in Los Angeles. Activists from a group called GetEQUAL began shouting at Obama while he was speaking at the podium. They expressed frustration over the slow progress of repealing the ban on openly gay people serving in the military. The protests brought the speech to a halt, and the protesters did not lower their voices after others in the crowd urged them to end their shouting. "What about 'Don't ask, don't tell?'" one protester shouted, according to a White House pool...

Boos For Obama During Phillies-National 1st Pitch President Makes Terrible Delivery On The Mound WASHINGTON (CBS) ― In front of thousands of fans, President Barack Obama strolled to the pitcher's mound and tossed a baseball to Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, officially launching the team's baseball season. As he came out and greeted the players, a few boos could be heard coming from fans. The president didn't show any obvious reaction and made his way to the mound. The setting -- freshly cut grass, a brilliant sun and clear skies -- was a picture-postcard quality introduction to a new...

For those of you that don’t know, Ryan Sorba is the pompous genius who decided to wreck his big debut at CPAC by getting himself booed off stage. Watch the video below: ... What a likeable guy. “Bring it, I love it, I love it!” It’s pretty ironic that this guy who likes to show off his toughness is making a career out of attacking homosexuals. He even said to gay Republican Alex Knepper (who, in all fairness, didn’t exactly confront him politely—only click the link if you are ready for some crude remarks) that he’d fight him if his...

Paul's victory renders a straw poll that was already lightly contested among the likely 2012 GOP hopefuls all but irrelevant as the 74-year-old Texan is unlikely to be a serious contender for his party's nomination. CPAC organizers were plainly embarrassed by the results, which could reduce the perceived impact of a contest that was once thought to offer a window into which White House hopefuls were favored by movement conservatives. A spokesman for the conference rushed over to reporters following the announcement to make sure they had heard the unmistakable boos when the screen first showed Paul had won the...

UPDATE: Gov. David Paterson was loudly booed this afternoon when he was introduced to drop the ceremonial first puck at the outdoor hockey game between the Syracuse Crunch and the Binghamton Senators. The governor, who earlier announced his candidacy for election to a full term, took to the ice at the outdoor rink assembled at the New York State Fairgrounds in Geddes around 1:25 p.m. The game was supposed to start at 1. Thousands in the fairgrounds grandstand booed so loudly that the governor's words were indistinguishable over the public address system set up for the first outdoor American Hockey...

"While I was flipping through the autobiography, a woman approached the booth. Catherine Sumner, it turned out, was part of GOProud, a group of openly gay Republicans and conservatives that for the first time is taking part in CPAC. “Is this your flyer?” Sumner demanded, waving the white and green pamphlet. Thus launched a debate about gays in the military that pretty much ended when the booth attendee told her that homosexuality is a sin and she’s going to hell. “It’s insulting,” Sumner, 31, who edits a military magazine, said turning away. “Across the board the reaction to GOProud’s presence...

Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

It’s the dark side of the media sensation book tour: the disappointed fans who, in the age of YouTube and blog comments, have louder voices than ever. Liberal blogger Kevin K. at Rumproast has video and angry comments from Sarah Palin fans. One angry comment: Went to the book signing in Noblesville, IN. Waited three hours in the cold to get a wristband to reserve my spot at the book signing tonight. We were told she would sign book for the first 1000 people. Not so. The event ended promptly at 9:00pm, though there were still at least 150 people...

Kanye West rushes the stage while Taylor Swift was thanking people for her award for “Best Female Video”. He says “I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos ever.” The audience started booing Kanye. Boo! That has got to be one of the most disrespectful acts I have ever seen on live TV. What a disgrace Kanye. Boo! Boo! Boo! Although: I bet Kanye West does the Single Ladies dance at home and couldn’t stand the idea that Beyonce lost. Watch the video by clicking above link.

Politics: The senator who called the president a liar and never apologized may have worn out his welcome in his home state. Harry Reid may be riding the liberal agenda into political oblivion. In 2004, Republicans defeated Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle largely on the theme that he neglected his home state in favor of national party interests. The GOP is hoping that in 2010 lightning will strike a second time, and Nevada polls indicate it may be more than wishful thinking. In 1998, Reid beat John Ensign by a hair-thin 428 votes. Ensign would go on to win Nevada's other...

TED KOPPEL (ABC host): When the president talked about the bankruptcy of Social Security, there were clearly some Democrats on the floor who thought that that was taking it too far. And they did something that, apparently, no one at this table has ever heard before. They booed. [ABC, Nightline, 2/2/05; Koppel's panel consisted of former Bush adviser Mary Matalin, former Reagan chief of staff Ken Duberstein, and former Clinton speechwriter Michael Waldman] JOHN ROBERTS (CBS White House correspondent): At a couple points in this address, it looked more like the British Parliament than the United States Congress. I've never...

Madonna Booed During Romanian Concert Over Gypsy Remark August 28, 2009 7:13 a.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Bucharest, Romania (CNS) - Madonna's stance on equality was not warmly received in Romania. The pop superstar was booed during a concert after she mentioned discrimination of gypsies and homosexuals in the country. She told the "Sticky and Sweet" concert crowd in Bucharest, "I've never been to Romania before and I am happy to be here." "But I found out that there is a lot of discrimination against gypsies in Eastern Europe and that makes me very sad,...

BUCHAREST, Romania - At first, fans politely applauded the Roma performers sharing a stage with Madonna. Then the pop star condemned widespread discrimination against Roma, or Gypsies — and the cheers gave way to jeers. The sharp mood change that swept the crowd of 60,000, who had packed a park for Wednesday night's concert, underscores how prejudice against Gypsies remains deeply entrenched across Eastern Europe. Despite long-standing efforts to stamp out rampant bias, human rights advocates say Roma probably suffer more humiliation and endure more discrimination than any other people group on the continent. Sometimes, it can be deadly: In...
