Well, as Christians, we’d all be fools if we denied that God did not choose the Jewish people as his own and first. I do not think anyone can deny that. It’s obvious that Christ also chose Peter. Why did he not send off the 11 without choosing Peter to care for his fold, well he is our Lord and I can’t argue. Please do not blame it on Catholics. I think that I can speak for most, this is difficult for I surely do NOT look at myself at better than any nor do I feel comfortable in this position. I just want the truth and I suspect that all wonderfully, good honest people wish for the same.

I think that people somewhere down the line got the idea that Catholics place themselves above others and that is surely a deception. We’re not trying to do that, for I cry and pray many a night because it hurts so much that innocent people are being mislead for whatever reason. Most of the time through no fault of their own. I just love God as most and just want it to be as pure as what Christ taught his disciples 2000 years ago. Half truths have become half lies. If I could pluck out my heart for one to see, I surely would. If you only knew...

If you read the last of his beloved deciple John’s gospel...the world cannot hold all he spoke and so we must get every iota of what we know and embrace it. For he so loved the world...and for some reason unknown to me...I want all to get as much fullness of truth as he has shown lowly me. It’s just to much to keep to myself.

I never got a chance to thank Mr. Colson for his Christian behavior for I found myself derailed and I allowed myself to fall from my first instinct instinct of gratitude and so I do so now.

    Thank you kindly sir,

Now why would I want to go to a 'church father' when I have a Bible?

Why wouldn't you want to seek the sermons of what the apostles were teaching to understand scripture better? Are we wiser than they that the Holy Spirit descended upon? Not I!

Don't take the last words of John's gospel lightly. Did not the apostles ask why Christ spoke in parables and seek the understanding of their meanings? They are your servants, do not be proud.

How can he just give over his understanding of Scripture to the authority of Rome?

John 25:21 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.

If you take the time to read Church history, you would find yourself in awe. Take for instance, did you know that during the first few centuries that Christians were accused and persecuted for cannibalism? Did you know that the Scribes were sola scripture? Did you know that 400,000+ lambs were sacrified from the time of Christ til the fall of Jerusalem but to no avail. Did they love God no less than less than you love Christ? These good people were mislead...

John:6:54 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.

2000 years - The Church of the Apostles which Christ specifically gave authority to Peter. If Christ did not want to dictate authority, he simply would not have singled out Peter, but spoke to the 12 as individuals to go off and preach.

34,000 Christian denominations all preaching something different. Ever wonder? If you ever knew and you can.

You bet! And Catholics are humbly grateful and blessed to welcome conservative evangelicals to the Church. The sweet freshness of God at work.

And there is also a lot of Catholic bashing and anti-Catholicism being spewed even here on FR. I am amazed that it is permitted.

It's quite troubling all over the Internet but we get a small taste of the relentless persecution of what the early Church had to endure. The gates of hell will not prevail against her and its quite sad that some call themselves "Christian" and are working overtime to attack her. A search of Pope+antichrist brings up a half a million articles and most of those are allegedly by so-called "Christians." I suspect we can expect this kind of stuff when Gracie alone will save them.

Colson and other's like him (Billy Graham, Chuck Swindel, Van Impe etc) have the blood of those Roman Catholics who would have been saved had they been preached the true Gospel, on their hands (Ezek 33).

Perhaps some research of the Early Church Fathers teachings could help you out some. Surely to "save" us Catholics, you would want to know what was being taught by the early church fathers to prove us wrong?

Here's a few books to get you started:

Four Witnesses: The Early Church in Her Own Words by Rod Bennett.

Upon this Rock by Steven Ray

Catholicism & Fundamentalism by Karl Keating

Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic by David Currie.

Unfortunately, Christianity has been diluted by the many false teachers of the day and many good souls suffer and are kept from the fullness of Truth. It’s no different from the false teachers who were misleading many good Jewish people in Christ’s time.

Take the time to study the Early Church Fathers and their teachings.

Amazing isn't it! It doesn't take a historian to see all of the errors in the RC position!

Yeah, funny how that works these days. For $25 anyone can instantly become clairvoyant scripture experts when trying to destroy God's ONE, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Guess what...The gates of hell shall not prevail against it!!!

I wouldn't be so gleeful in working against God's Church for there will come a day.

    Good article

Well, there are now over 30,000+ Protestant denominations each teaching differently. Perhaps if each of these denominations could each self appoint themselves as a President of the US, that would certainly clear things up and bring more order to this country.

Perhaps employees could appoint themselves General Managers and several could be running around teaching a different process to the other employees. I imagine that would be quite profitable?

One would have to be extremely liberal in theology to think God's intention was disordered when the OT and NT teaches us quite the contrary. I find it quite sad that some cannot see this simple connection.

I'd hate to see a discussion of the Lord's Prayer on this site or "Do this in Memory of Me."

The first Protester, Luther wanted to throw out the book of Revelations because he didn't see it as "revealing" and so the sad unrevealing "mysteries" to some continues.

Time to get out the Rosary. Happy Lent!!

its time to fix the rest of this flawed system.

    Matthew 7:5

Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam in thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

The data on the Protestant clergy

In a 1984 survey, 38.6 percent of ministers reported sexual contact with a church member, and 76 percent knew of another minister who had had sexual intercourse with a parishioner.[xiii] In the same year, a Fuller Seminary survey of 1,200 ministers found that 20 percent of theologically “conservative” pastors admitted to some sexual contact outside of marriage with a church member. The figure jumped to over 40 percent for “moderates”; 50 percent of “liberal” pastors confessed to similar behavior.[xiv]
