Madison. About 20 minutes west of Reidsville, near the Stokes County border. Plant is just off 220. I think they just make shotguns and pistols at this factory, but I don’t remember.

Everyone I know who has or does work there likes it.

Now THAT would’ve been great. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned, hands down. I wish I still had the old girl.

413,000 + miles and would’ve probably still kept going had I taken the time (and money) to keep her on the road.

I LOVED my time in Savannah!

Never remember anyone asking me what I wanted to drink outside of the bars, but everything I remember about the place was talked about in the article.

About as laid back a place as you’ll ever find, with a nod to the quaint, Antebellum South and a hint of modernism that seems to be well blended.

Actually, Durham County “found” 90,000 absentee ballots late last night that cost McCrory the election. He was ahead by 53,000 votes when the board of elections sent out the tweet about “finding” the ballots.

At this point, the NCGOP may fight to have that examined, but who knows? They also have not counted provisional and military ballots, from what I understand. Those could put McCrory back on top, but IMHO the key will be those “lost” ballots and whether or not the NCGOP and McCrory will push for an investigation.

That or he could just make wedding cakes and put up a big sign that says: “100% of ALL profits from the sale of all WEDDING cakes will be donated to the Family Research Council in the name of the couple to promote HETEROSEXUAL marriage amendments throughout the country” and see how many “packers” like having their money go for fighting their lifestyle.

He could even go so far as to sell the most expensive wedding cakes in the entire state, ensuring that everyone who wants one will give him the maximum amount of profit per wedding he can possibly get. Then proceed to try to sell them every accessory, specialty and add on he can think of. Roll up in the van with the same “100% of ALL Profits....” in big, bold letters on the side and even print out a big poster “Thanking” the lovely “couple” - by name, of course - for their generous donation to FRC.

And do it all with a smile on his face.

So long as EVERY couple who comes in for a cake gets the same treatment, there isn’t a damn thing the “packers” can do.

As a self described Q connoisseur, I feel it is my duty to sample of all regional varieties in order to make a more informed judgment. Which is probably why I am in the shape I am in!

I would love to visit the fine state of Texas and sample some Q. But, like I said before, please don’t expect me to change my mind! I am willing to try, though!

Dang! A Q fight on a Friday morning?

Sorry, but I have lived in Georgia and sampled some of the Q from establishments all over that fine state. While Georgia is indeed a wonderful place and I loved my time there, putting their Q ahead of my beloved home state of NC is just wrong.

As a devoted carnivore, I freely admit to having never sampled Q from the fine state of Texas, where beef is the meat of choice. I have heard it is some mighty fine bovine and I have no doubt the good folks in Texas have mastered the fine art of cooking Q as it should be cooked. However, just like with Georgia, I have a hard time believing that, top to bottom, east to west, you will fine a better state for Q than NC.

With that said, there are some BAD Q joints here. Just like there are everywhere. Plus, there are 3 distinct methods for serving Q in this state, all of which have devoted and passionate followers.

I think the preference for Q breaks down to “where you come from”. No doubt that some of us appreciate regional delicacies outside our norm and would put some foods that were perfected in parts of the country over the home grown varieties. For instance, NO ONE makes bagels like they do in NY. Sourdough bread? As much as I loathe San Fransissico, they know how to make it. I have never had salmon anywhere that was as good as I did in Oregon. But with Q, because there are so many who cook it in their area and so many who have fine tuned their methods, I really do think it has more to do with where you come from.

But that is just my opinion. I Do stand by my assertion that NC has the best Q of anywhere in the country, though.

Simple solution (but not 100% foolproof) is that the cake decorator or photographer posts a sign CLEARLY stating that any and all wedding related profits be donated to the Family Research Council (or some other organization that pushes HETEROsexual marriages). So, say Bob and Bill come in for hiring a photographer that they know to be Christian to shoot their “wedding”. They gleefully wait to be told “no”, but instead they get a big ‘ol “SURE, we would be glad to do your wedding!” and then they are promptly told that any and all profits from said wedding pictures will be donated to FRC. The photographer starts asking them how much of a budget they have and how much they want to spend. At that point, the fun begins, because while they may be able to force a business to do something they don’t want to, they still cannot force them to NOT donate to whatever charity they want.

To make it even more fun, suppose Bob and Bill ONLY want them to take pictures of their “engagement” whatever. Photographer says “Well, I am sorry, we only contract out for everything. If you want us to just do one element, we can’t do that.” As long as they have the same policy for everyone, there is no issue. So, Bob and Bill HAVE to hire them for the entire shoot or nothing.

Not sure they could donate the profits in the gay guys’ names or not, but who cares? So long as the sodomites know they will help funnel money to organizations that fight against them, it doesn’t matter. I suspect not too many would be willing to do that.

Again, not a perfect solution and I am sure someone, someday will sue to try to force them not to donate money to these organizations, but you gotta fight with whatever means you can. And since the black robed gaystapo enforcers have already signed off on loosening political funding, make THEM have to go against their own rulings.

Oh, and some Christians need to start turning the tables on the homos and REAL soon. Like have a “One man, one woman” fundraising event that they hire some known homo bakery or photographer to have to work at. When they refuse, sue them using the same laws. File the same complaints.

  • Brand new set of baseball bleachers torn down after ruling…girls softball team’s seats must be equal

    04/01/2014 8:32:35 AM PDT · 44 of 52
    Littlejon to Mrs. Don-o

A couple of similar issues cropped here in my neck of the woods the last couple of years. First was at a middle school, which didn’t have fields for baseball or softball. They were bussed to a city facility for their home games as has been done for many years now. Well, one season the AD told the girls to drive to the field, which is about a mile from the school, because they didn’t have funding for buses because of some snafu or snow days or something like that. Since the budget had not been set for the next year, this didn’t affect the boys, whose budget was adjusted once they saw what happened with the girl’s team. Well, ONE PARENT complained and didn’t get the answer she wanted. So, she called the school board and said “Title IX” and then all hell broke loose. The district started looking at things and realized that a lot of girls’ programs were not funded equally to the boys, so they had a potential mess on their hands. To “fix” the problem they first built a brand new softball field at the middle school, complete with lights. Problem is the games start at 4:00, so they are done before the sun goes down. So the lights are NEVER turned on. Now, the boys still have to play at the city park, but the girls, who were barely able to field a team this year, have a brand new field with nice bleachers, lights, concession booth, ticket booth (for the dozens of mostly parents who bother to show up) and all the amenities you could imagine.

Now, at my son’s HS they had a similar issue. The girl’s field, which the softball boosters had just raised money to put lights on, was deemed “inadequate”. So, AGAINST the wishes of the softball parents, they tore the field up, threw away the brand new lights and made a field in a completely different area of the property, complete with all the same amenities the middle school field had, including a really nice scoreboard and state of the art lighting. Meanwhile the baseball boosters raised money for new WOODEN LIGHT POLES to replace the 20+ year old existing ones. They also wanted to build a brick backstop to make the field look more like others in the conference. They were told they couldn’t and so the poles sit piled up at the edge of the middle school baseball parking lot rotting away. Lighting at the old field is ancient and costs almost as much per game as the softball lights do per season, but they can’t be replaced, nor can the POLES they sit on be replaced because then they would have to spend the same amount on the girls even though they just spent thousands of dollars building a field no one wanted in the first place.

My favorite thus far (and something I am sure will come back to bite them) was the cheerleaders for the football team. Football boosters raise a ton of money each year, but have to in order to maintain adequate, well, everything. One part of that was feeding the team on away games at restaurants. Well, they traveled to a school a good distance away for playoffs two years ago and the plan was to stop and have a team meal on the way. Fine and dandy except that the cheerleaders rode the buses with the coaches and team. Now, the cheerleader PARENTS wanted the football boosters to pay for the cheerleaders’ meals as well. Football boosters told them they could pay for their meals on their own if they wanted to, but the football boosters paid for the team and coaches only. It was suggested that the cheerleaders forms their own booster organization to raise money for the future. Well, you would have thought they had suggested the girls start stripping for meals! They were outraged that someone dare suggest parents pay for their darling little Snowflake’s meals!

So, last season when the team traveled and had to eat at a restaurant the boosters again paid for the team and coaches. The cheerleaders packed bag meals and ate on the bus. Needless to say this has not sat well with the cheerleader parents. To their credit, the football boosters decided that since all but 2 away games were close enough to eat locally, they had my church open it’s doors to the team to have a catered meal before the games. Cheerleader parents could feed now feed their precious little Snowflakes at home or take them out before boarding the bus to leave.

It is really getting ridiculous with the whole “equal” crap. If they want to be “fair”, have each sport raise their own money from ticket sales, etc. and pay for their stuff that way. But, that wouldn’t be “fair” because no one comes to watch girl’s sports, so they are at a “disadvantage” and thus must be subsidized in order to survive.

    Isn’t this a GREAT system?

  • Wife of Miami Dolphins’ QB Ryan Tannehill leaves AR-15 rifle in rental car

Bless her heart! I think she is in need of some remedial gun safety and handling classes. I am available any time for some private lessons. I am sure she needs a LOT of training, too, so I will make myself available for a while.

Just a service to you all because, well, that’s what I do for my fellow freepers!

In all seriousness, it sounds like she was in a hurry, likely on the phone and simply forgot all about it. She had the thing for 2 hours before getting another vehicle, so it could have been that she was having car problems and was on the phone with the rental company and was in a hurry to get somewhere and forgot it was in there. That is a simple, albeit stupid, mistake. Granted, if it were MY $2000 tricked out AR, that would be the FIRST thing I would make sure was out of the car, but being a rich NFL QB’s wife, she probably has several tricked out firearms.

Hard to fault her too much, even though it was careless. She had it in a case, it wasn’t loaded and it was in the back seat, so she pretty much did everything right except take it out of the car.

IMHO, the rental company is more to blame than anyone else. Tells me they don’t do much in between rentals. Add to that the dumbass libtard NY princess losing her lunch at the mere sight of a firearm and the idiots AFTER Lauren left the rifle in the car, to me anyway, are more to blame for all of this than anyone else. Yes, precious little Snowflake was so traumatized by the sight of one of those “eeeevill” guns that mommy had to take a picture of it and call the press to help her get over it before taking it to the poeleese. Nevermind she says she saw the name tag on the case. I guess it never occurred to her to call the OWNER and tell them that she found the rifle.

    Idiots.
