FDR spent just over two years in the New York State Senate, eight years as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and four years as Governor of New York.

Theodore Roosevelt three years in the New York State Assembly, two years as Governor of New York, one year as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and less than one year as Vice President of the United States.

Woodrow Wilson spent eight years as President of Princeton University and two years as Governor of New Jersey.

Grover Cleveland spent two years as Sheriff of Erie County, two years as Mayor of Buffalo, and two years as Governor of New York.

Overall, I’d say that Palin’s background is comparable with that of several presidents considered highly successful, even considering that her state has a smaller population than the other two states on the list.

In many states it is a crime for a teacher to have sex with a student, even if the student is 18. Considering that teachers have unique access to students and are expected to act in loco parentis, in a parental role, many people consider this particular abuse of a teaching position to be an action that merits prosecution as a felony. As a teacher, I agree with those who want it to be illegal and not just grounds for firing.

I'm still confused on what they do. I didn't see anything about ensuring manufacturing or retail businesses could operate in those communities to provide jobs, teaching the skills that employers actually want (like showing up on time and working during work hours), or emphasizing their personal responsibility to fix their personal problems. I didn't need to be empowered. Instead, I got an education and a job. I didn't need an organizer to develop my leadership skills. Instead, I joined the Boy Scounts of America and then once I had a job took on responsibilities and produced results, so I came to be recognized as a leader by actually leading. I don't need an organizer working for "financial justice", whatever that is, because I pay my bills on time, save money for the future, and plan ahead. As for "utilities", I'm confused. My utility company has never been an issue, and I've heard most of them are the same for customers who pay their bills.

Does anyone want to tell these community organizers the secret that their politicians keep from them? Almost all of the community organizers in the country are in states with liberal governors. Have they even considered that the mess they're cleaning up in the "neighborhoods that have been hit hardest" might be more closely related to their own liberal politicians than to the republican governor of a state that doesn't need community organizers?

That's not quite true though. Alaska has community organizers who provide jobs for those in need. They are called "employers" and they organize their own savings and people in the community to give working people an even better deal than those in need would get from a welfare office and an organizer combined. Alaska also has organizers running a service to make sure that the young get the skills they need to go to college or get a job. Those organizers are called "principals". The best organizers of all are the ones who make sure that teenagers mostly do what they're supposed to do. In most Alaska communities, those organizers are called "parents" and most of them know what their job is and make it their top priority.

Age cannot wither nor custom stale the infinite irony of Obama supporters who repeat this mantra. Think about why each of those lines was effective. Now, let's look at the professional and unbiased coverage of Governor Palin (usually referred to as a small-town mayor, as if her nearly two years of running an entire state with 86% approval doesn't count):

While Obama has been running for office for as long as Palin has been running a state, I find it hard to consider the two tasks as comparable preparation.

One final note: I will be posting this multiple times because I think it is important to get the word out that that her experience is in keeping with previous presidents. I apologize to those who are annoyed by seeing it too often.

I would disagree with the term "absurd" and suggest that the perfect word is "obvious". Whether or not you agree with Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, or Wilson on politics, you have to admit that they were as ready for the job as any presidents in our history.
