BERGHOLZ, Ohio - Bare feet and work boots shuffle on the wooden floor of the Amish schoolhouse as the children settle into tight rows of scuffed metal desks across the room from their parents — the men on one set of benches, women on another, some cradling younger children. They have gathered to celebrate the end of school, but no one claps or cheers. The only voices raised are those of the students as they begin singing, the melodies rising and dipping like the surrounding hills. A warm breeze carries the religious lyrics, mostly in German, through open windows and...

The surprising Puerto Ricans first eliminated the star-studded United States, then took care of two-time World Baseball Classic champion Japan two days later with a 3-1 victory in Sunday night's semifinal. Puerto Rico needs just one more win to be WBC champions. "We totally showed we can be the new team, the champion nobody expected," said Angel Pagan, center fielder for the World Series champion San Francisco Giants. "It means a lot, but not everything, because we're still missing one more win." Alex Rios hit a two-run homer, Mike Aviles singled twice and drove in the game's first run, and...

She has tried the macrobiotic diet, the kale and lemon cleanse and only eating salad for days on end. But now Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted that she has begun inflicting her obsessions with food on her own children - by starving them of carbohydrates. Miss Paltrow, 40, said that that she avoids feeding pasta, bread or rice to Apple, eight, and Moses, six, because it is bad for them, even though they are left ‘craving’ the food. Her decision was based on the fact that everyone in her house - including husband Chris Martin - is supposedly intolerant of gluten,...

WASHINGTON -- Bob Woodward isn't the only person who's received threats for airing the Obama administration's dirty laundry. It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days - even former senior members of the Clinton administration. A day after Woodward's claim that a senior White House official had told him he would "regret" writing a column criticizing President Obama's stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL's Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington...

There's supposed to be some epic Bonding at the Oscars -- the buzz is ... all 6 actors who have played James Bond may appear on stage. But now we're hearing one of them may be a no-show, and shockingly ... it could be Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan confessed yesterday in Malibu, "Well, they'll be missing one." It's unclear, but his tone and body language seems to suggest he is the one that wants no part of it. Who woulda thunk -- Sean Connery was our bet for the holdout.

Pop star SIMON LE BON has urged Westerners to gain a level of "perspective" over the economic slump, insisting problems in Europe and the U.S. are minimal compared to the issues facing Africa. The Duran Duran frontman has spoken out to share his views on the global recession and admits he is baffled by complaints from affluent families who need to tighten their belt. He tells The Times, "We have to put this economic slump into perspective. Even though the recession might be tough on us in the West, we have to get through it and should remember how people...

... even after his DISASTROUS performance during the debate. She's Italian (came to this country at age 14 in 1956), and I just have a feeling that she misses Mussolini in some way and sees POTUS as a somewhat Mussolini-like figure. She's been all about "social justice" in recent years. She's been retired for over 10 years and receives an average pension. She's by no means "rich". Very middle class, and dare I say perhaps even lower middle class... In 2008, she supported Hillary until the very end, and eventually settled with Obama when he got the nomination. She LOVES...

The Church Of Scientology allegedly believes it's most famous celebrity convert Tom Cruise has telekinetic and telepathic powers, it has been reported. Tom, 50, is the most famous follower of the religion and an investigation by Rolling Stone back in 2006 revealed that he had reached an advanced level of Scientology and was known as an ‘Operating Thetan’ or an ‘OT’. The author of the investigation, Janet Reitman, explained that OTs ‘have total control over themselves and their environment.

U.S. Park Police say an officer has been struck with a brick in the face as officers in riot gear and on horseback cleared protesters from one of the last remaining Occupy sites. As many of you know, "The Savage Nation" used to air in its entirety in Washington, DC on 730AM - WTNT. Since January 1st, 2012, the first live hour of the show (6-7pm) has been replaced by "The Armstrong Williams Show" (which is taped). At 7:06pm, Dr. Savage and "The Savage Nation" returns to the WTNT airwaves. So therefore, Armstrong's show lasts only one hour. This makes me MAD because WTNT removed Dr. Savage from the first live hour (6-7pm), which is the MOST IMPORTANT HOUR OF THE SHOW -- aside from the fact that it's the one hour where...
