Yeah, I found out about Shirley Q from the old Ken Hamblin (The Black Avenger) radio show. He would play clips of Shirley Q and a few times had her on the phone. Funny stuff.
As a 5th generation Texan and someone with more than a passing interest in the Alamo's history, I would say that the Alamo movie was done rather well. The folks who slammed it without bothering to check it out themselves are ignorant.
That's not the first time I have heard that. I also worked with a guy who used to lay tile for a living. He said on many of the hotels he was contracted to work in he would find that some of the illegals had crapped in the bathtubs and showers instead of the toilets.
When an exploding enemy mortar round severed 2d Lt. Bobo's right leg below the knee, he refused to be evacuated and insisted upon being placed in a firing position to cover the movement of the command group to a better location. With a web belt around his leg serving as a tourniquet and with his leg jammed into the dirt to curtail the bleeding, he remained in this position and delivered devastating fire into the ranks of the enemy attempting to overrun the marines.
Damn. That is hardcore. The acts of these MOH recipients leave me amazed.
