Socialism is reaching its unavoidable conclusion in Venezuela where President Nicolas Maduro has begun introducing food rationing. A new food card will be issued to citizens called the “Secure Food Supply” card that is aimed at combatting hoarding and reselling. Shoppers apparently buy food which is heavily subsidized and resell it on the black market to secure profits.

Tired of waiting for the city of Tacoma, Wash. to paint crosswalks on its reputably hazardous streets, a group of anonymous Tacoma residents – including some city employees – has taken to painting crosswalks themselves. The group calls itself “Citizens for a Safer Tacoma,” – and Tacoma’s city government is determined to crack down on its “rogue crosswalks” and prosecute anyone caught painting them. “In Tacoma, the law is the law,” KING 5 news reports. The city spends up to $1000 removing each illegal crosswalk. Incidentally, this is also the price of painting a legal crosswalk.

Psychiatrists (and Charlie Brooker) offer insightful perspective on news coverage's perpetuation of mass shootings in schools. The bit with the psychiatrist is so perfect, shame is that the media is never ever going to stop covering shootings in this manner because it gets them so many viewers.

Have you ever followed a link to the source article and found a dedicated troll attempting to disrupt the thread? My suggestion is this, ask the respondents to please refrain from commenting back. If you ignore the progressive anus, they tend to go away so as I like to post just beneath the spouting rectum`s written diarrhea: DON`T FEED THE TROLLS. Maybe some will get the hint!

It is OK if you think that government is corrupt and incompetent, I think that too. It is OK to have weapon in your home, and will and knowledge to use it, and it is very good if you think that TV is full of crap. I think too that S. is gonna hit the fan, and that it makes sense to have bug out location and bug out bag, and lots of cans and ammo. So we are clear that we agree that all of the above (and lots more) make perfect sense. But one thing does not make...

The investigations into the IRS and the VA are about to collide, head on, and it's not going to be pretty for Lois Lerner, congressional Democrats, and Obama. Lerner's been held in contempt of Congress, and Holder won't do anything. That's about to change.

[Video] 8 Year Old Schoolboy Reprimanded For Thinking a Cloud Looked Like a Gun During Assignment May 22 2014 by Dan Cannon Share This Post So I think we’re officially to the point where our public schools are punishing children for their imagination. According to KKTV, Second grader Kody Smith was assigned to go outside, look at the clouds, and then use his imagination to draw what he saw. “Draw a picture of what you see in the clouds from your imagination and that picture is a gun,” explained 8-year-old Kody. Because it was a gun, the teacher at Talbott...
  • Voters are seeing the Tea Party for what it is: destructive

Extremes are called that for a reason. They are ideas that are on the far edges of reasonableness, and they are – rightly – destined to be tempered and reined in by more moderate ideas. That's what has just happened to the political party that holds sway in my home state. Elections across the nation Tuesday showed that voters have rejected Tea Party extremism, with all of its concentration on hating President Obama and its suggestion that anyone who disagrees is less than patriotic. These voters -- Republicans in states like Kentucky, Georgia and Idaho -- are definitely not tree-hugging,...

16 May 2014 Is the French National Anthem 'Racist'? BBC Trending Race and the French national anthem have been discussed all week on Twitter and Facebook, after a French minister was criticised for not knowing the words. It all started with a tweet. Following a ceremony commemorating the abolition of slavery, French Justice Minister Christiane Taubira was criticised by fellow politician Geoffroy Boulard for declining to sing the national anthem, La Marseillaise. Tweet posted by Geoffroy Boulard criticising Christiane Taubira Boulard's tweet says: "Taubira isn't singing La Marseillaise under the pretext that she doesn't know the words. Resignation!" This ignited...

A Texas teenager whose date died in their hotel room after her senior prom has sent a series of emotional text messages to a friend suggesting she passed away following an overdose. The unidentified date frantically called 911 on Saturday morning after waking up in a North Houston Hyatt to find that 17-year-old Jacqueline Gomez was not breathing. Investigators said that the MacArthur High School senior showed no outward signs of injury and the results of her autopsy are pending. They added that her boyfriend is not suspected of any crime. Now text messages that he sent to one of...
