(IsraelNN.com) MK (National Union) Uri Ariel on Tuesday released the names of rebellious former air force pilots who are now employed by El Al. They were among the 27 air force personnel who signed the letter refusing to carryout targeted counter-terrorism offensive strikes. Ariel is calling upon El Al travelers not to travel with pilots who “prefer the lives of terrorists over the lives of Israelis”. He asks that passengers inquire at to the names of the flight crew and boycott flights operated by any of the five, adding if a plane is hijacked, they cannot be relied upon.

LOS ANGELES - An Egyptian immigrant's deadly attack on an Israeli airline ticket counter last year has been ruled a terrorist attack related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, an FBI spokesman said Friday. "Given his political views and the fact that El Al is an Israeli government-owned airline, that met the criteria for a terrorist attack," said Matthew McLaughlin, a spokesman for the Los Angeles field office of the FBI. Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, 41, opened fire at Los Angeles International Airport's El Al ticket counter on July 4 last year, killing two people before being shot dead by an airline security...

Posted on Thu, Nov. 14, 2002 EL AL: THE AIRLINE THAT GETS IT RIGHTBy Michael Smerconishmas@mastalk I FLEW TO Israel earlier this week against a backdrop of bad news.A Palestinian gunman shot and killed five people, including two children, at a kibbutz. Just hours earlier, two Palestinians were killed in a car explosion in what police say was a failed terror attack. It's the latest in a string of suicidal acts that have wreaked havoc in this country for the last two years.Yet en route to the Holy Land, I slept like a baby. Why so relaxed?Because I traveled...

The captain of an El Al flight from Zurich to Israel was forced to cancel the screening of a scheduled film when ultra-Orthodox passengers, both men and women, began to cause an onboard ruckus. The passengers were objecting to immodest scenes in the film, but another passenger on the flight claimed it was a family drama. The onboard riot reportedly began when a few dozen ultra-Orthodox Haredi passengers refused to pay attention to safety instructions as the plane was taking off, a passenger told Maariv. "While the flight was taking off, as the red seat belt light was still on,...

The big three airlines, American, Delta and United have something in common, other than Boeing aircraft. All of America's airlines, those that still serve food, give their passengers cheap plastic knives to eat with for "security" reasons. The plastic knives are "safe" by politically correct standards. Then why does the most secure airline in the world, El Al, still give its passengers a full set of silverware including knives? During a full dinner service from New York to Tel Aviv each Business Class passenger is presented with a full complement of dinner utensils which includes three metal knives if the...

True, we still don't know everything about Hesham Mohammed Hadayet, the murderer who shot and killed two people and wounded several others in front of the El Al counter at the Los Angeles airport. But even if we still don't have much technical information about his involvement in organized terrorism, we do know enough to make a moral judgment that should bring anyone to his senses. Israel has suffered hundreds, nay, thousands of terrorist attacks – suicide and non-suicide – over the last several months. Europe and the rest of the world have witnessed thousands of assaults against Jewish targets....
