As many of you know, and as many of you don't know, this Freepathon is to raise money for the current quarter, not one down the road. We need to get this one over with and now. November brings the most important election in our lifetime. FR must be up and running and healthy if we are going to make a difference. If you have donated in the past, please donate again. If you give something every quarter, try to give something every month. If you are a monthly donor, give dollar-a-day a shot, if you can. John needs some...

HEADS UP CPAC 2012 - Occupiers and Unions to Protest There Keep your powder dry at CPAC this week and be ready. In Oakland this past week the cowardly occupiers “occupied” places where they knew the police were not going to be around. Of course the police finally caught up to them and arrested 400. If anyone has a good contact with the Metro police, you might give them a heads up. And let the Marriott and Omni hotels know that they may have...

THE WOMAN WITH THE ROSE John Blanchard stood up from the bench, straightened his Army uniform, and studied the crowd of people making their way through Grand Central Station. He looked for the girl whose heart he knew, but whose face he didn't, the girl with the rose. His interest in her had begun thirteen months before in a Florida library. Taking a book off the shelf he found himself intrigued, not with the words of the book, but with the notes penciled in the margin. The soft handwriting reflected a thoughtful soul and insightful...

The ostensible purpose of gun control legislation is to reduce firearm deaths and injuries. The restriction of access to firearms will make criminals unable to use guns to shoot people. Gun control laws will also reduce the number of accidental shootings. Those are the desired effects, at least in theory. It is important, however, for conscientious policymakers to consider not only the stated goals of gun control regulations, but the actual results that they produce. What would be the effect of depriving ordinary, law-abiding citizens from keeping arms for self-defense? One result seems certain: the law-abiding would be at a...

Two weeks worth of AARs in this report. Last week got away from me. WEEK 313, JANUARY 21,2012God looked down upon us this Saturday. The night before a little over an inch of snow fell. Streets were predicted to be icy and as the morning wore on, an icy cold rain was to continue. But as I said, God was pleased with our support of the troops and the rain basically stopped. The roads were just wet and the shopping center had shoveled the corner. With the anticipated rain, we only put up the flanking flags. Plus with the snow...

Folks, we need to be on our knees, NOW, praying for Newt Gingrich and for our country. I don't want this to be political.....Newt was not my first choice, but after seeing what the press did to Sarah, then Mr. Cain, and what they're now trying to do to Newt, with of course the BLESSING of Romney....well, we need to stop this NOW. We can ALL agree that NONE of us wants O'Bama back in office, that is a given. I have children...lots of YOU have children. I have grandkids, lots of YOU have grandkids. I do NOT want them...

REFLECTIONS ON GROWING OLD(ER) Someone once said that we are now living in the age of age. In fact, there are more old people alive today than at any time in history. Faced with the fact that you will someday be, if you are not already, in the category of the aged, the old, or the elderly, how do you, or will you, look upon the final chapter of your book of life? Some look at age philosophically, like Jack Benny, who said: "Age is a matter of mind; if you don't mind, it doesn't...
