Ummm I'm struggling a little bit right now with my faith and with this thread. I have many liberal friends (and some family) that are not like what you describe at all. Maybe the other guy was right that we are all individuals... I know they don't listen to me when I talk to them about Jesus, but I have to accept that because I accept tolerance (one of the best lessons he taught me). They don't try and influence me either though at all because they accept my love for Christ. Should we really be attacking them? They are...

CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN' Arnold governing like a 'girlie man'? GOP convention speaker signing bills benefiting homosexuals, drag queens -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: September 28, 2004 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com Though California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was one of the star speakers at the Republican National Convention, a look at the bills he has signed of late reveals a chief executive much more in line with the party of John Kerry. Schwarzenegger, who holds a 61 percent approval rating in the Golden State, was known to be on the left socially, but those views have come to the surface recently as he signed...

There may be all of two people in America that believe John Kerry has a coherent strategy in Iraq. There are 25 million people in Iraq who know George Bush does. But when John Kerry begins to attack the leader of one of our infant allies you have to wonder if he may not change the minds of those who still support him. Yesterday in one of the strangest turns in foreign relations, Kerry went on the attack against the newly democratically chosen leader of Iraq - Iyad Allawi. And what was the reason for this scurrilous verbal drilling? Simply...

Dear Editor, the Tribune: Amazing. The Republican Bush camp is able to turn an unaccounted stint in the Air National Guard - even with a report by the Washington Post that former Texas Lt. Gov. Ben Barnes told close friends he was trying to "collect chits" from an influential political family when he recommended President George W. Bush for a pilot’s spot in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War - into a macho-man experience. After four days of the Republican convention - not to mention weeks of the Swift Boat Nuts - a true hero, John Kerry, who...

What's Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger doing in a hot pink dress and matching shoes? A Democratic lobbyist on the losing end of a legal settlement over sales of unauthorized Schwarzenegger bobblehead dolls says he'll roll out a "girlie man" model next month, to satirize Schwarzenegger and try to force a court decision on the celebrity governor's proprietary rights over his evolving political image. "The message is that, Arnold, you ran for office, we can praise you, we can criticize you and we can poke fun at you," said John Edgell. "And if you have a problem with that, sue me." A...

This is the great thing about rabid fundamentalism. You really just don't have to give a damn. Take the environment. I mean, isn't it just a little pointless to care so damn deeply about the air and the soil and the water and the stupid little disposable animals on this silly spinning ball of expendable rock when the Second Coming is imminent and a blood-soaked fire-breathin' Jesus who looks remarkably like Mel Gibson will return very soon to smite the heathens and the gays and the vegetarians and the Francophiles, and who will rescue all those who worship patriarchy and...

CANONSBURG, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry has called the invasion of Iraq "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time" and said his goal was to withdraw U.S. troops in his first White House term. Under pressure from some Democrats to change the subject from national security -- regarded by many as President George W. Bush's strongest issue -- Kerry tried to focus exclusively on the economy and other domestic topics at a neighbourhood meeting but supporters raised Iraq. The Massachusetts senator, who has said he would have voted to give Bush the authority...

THE MILLER MOMENT: Zell Miller's address will, I think, go down as a critical moment in this campaign, and maybe in the history of the Republican party. I kept thinking of the contrast with the Democrats' keynote speaker, Barack Obama, a post-racial, smiling, expansive young American, speaking about national unity and uplift. Then you see Zell Miller, his face rigid with anger, his eyes blazing with years of frustration as his Dixiecrat vision became slowly eclipsed among the Democrats. Remember who this man is: once a proud supporter of racial segregation, a man who lambasted LBJ for selling his soul...

Nantucket summer resident Pat Ottenhoff is spending the week in New York City at the Republican National Convention as an intern for the New Jersey Network. In addition to working for the public television station deep within the bowels of Madison Square Garden, he will chronicle for The Inquirer and Mirror the events leading up to and including President George W. Bush’s acceptance of the Republican nomination for president. He will also be keeping a convention diary which he will update periodically throughout the week in this space. This morning at the Crowne Plaza breakfast, the mood among the New...

One thing is certain. During a political campaign, one candidate will say just about anything about the other candidate, and most of what is said should be viewed somewhat askance. However, one can begin to form an opinion about a candidate by watching the candidate, and watching how the candidate responds to day-to-day circumstances. When the candidate is running for the highest office in the land, the candidates conduct can become telling. Very telling. John Kerry has been stung by a broad list of accusations coming not from the Bush campaign, but from Viet Nam War veterans incensed by Kerry's...

A news report posted on another thread indicates that John Kerry was not happy about the reception he received at the VFW convention. He was ticked that his staff said he'd get a warm reception, but instead it was cool, if not downright cold. This photo shows Kerry in what appears to be a fully condescending mode toward his black aide. Kerry's face is grim and stern. His eyebrows are raised and he's wagging that finger at the poor aide, who looks startled. Here's Yahoo's caption: U.S. Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry talks to his campaign trip director Setti Warren...
