After reading the Blaze’s report about Liza’s Place and Hope Home, two women’s shelters in Colorado that have lost federal funding because of mandatory Bible studies, Glenn Beck decided to take action. While speaking on-air with Marilyn Vyzourek, the founder and executive director of the faith-based shelters, he generously donated $55,000 to replace the lost, government monies. Prior to Beck’s inspiring announcement, Vyzourek explained the choice she had been given: “They said I needed to cut down on my Bible studies…or they would terminate my funding.” The Christian portion of the shelter program is essential, she said. ”Only Jesus can...

Without endorsing former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., popular coservative talk show host Glenn Beck praised the Republican candidate as the most trustworthy in the presidential field, even suggesting that Santorum "is the next George Washington." "I don't endorse candidates," Beck said today during an interview with Santorum, but "if there is one guy out there that is the next George Washington, the only guy that I could think of is Rick Santorum. I would ask that you would take a look at him," he added. "I don't trust any of them, but if I had to trust the reins of...

If you’ve had a heartbeat and a television set over the last 20 years, chances are you know the face of Chuck Woolery. He’s a game show host legend. And recently, he’s been making a series of comedic, and conservative, short videos. They caught the eye of Glenn Beck, who invited Woolery on to Beck’s program on Thursday night to talk conservative politics in Hollywood. Woolery explained the “code” that works as a “reverse blackball” against conservatives where, despite one’s qualifications, his politics can prevent him from getting work. He also wondered out loud if his conservative stance was a...

Glenn Beck clearly works hard to make sure that each segment of his GBTV show ranks high in measures of quality and content. But you can tell when he classifies a topic as a “must watch” segment. There are two such clips in this post. Consider this a story of a destiny reclaimed. One town, best by squabbles and scandals, rises up to chart a new and very American course. Until November 2010, Vernon Township, New Jersey did not have a Mayor. Instead, the town functioned under the Faulkner Act – a “council-manager” – form of government. Under this system...

Goldline International, the California precious metals retailer promoted by Glenn Beck and other right-wing radio hosts, was formally charged with 19 criminal counts—including grand theft by false pretenses, false advertising, and conspiracy—on Tuesday by the Santa Monica City Attorney's Office. The criminal complaint also implicates Goldline CEO Mark Albarian, along with two other company executives and two salespeople. The charges detailed in the complaint support what MoJo's Stephanie Mencimer first reported in 2010: Using aggressive telemarketing tactics, Goldline employees routinely pressured customers to purchase expensive coins with mark-ups so steep that it was very unlikely the consumer would ever make...

I always used to pause at that oft-used description of the saints. The martyr part made sense. But why virgin? To make it a point to highlight that aspect of a person’s life seemed a little…personal. To use internet parlance, it struck me as TMI. I knew that the problem must be with me, and not with a tradition of the 2,000-year-old Church, but I never could figure out why that designation was so important. Then I began to notice something: Our society has lost the concept that it is possible to live a fulfilling life without having sex. And...

In November of 2010 in Don’t be VAT stupid Herman Cain writes: ``A national retail sales tax on top of all the confusing and unfair taxes we have today is insane! It gives the out-of-control bureaucrats and politicians in denial one more tool to lie, deceive, manipulate and destroy this country.`` The fact is, Herman is now proposing a new tax, a national retail sales tax, in addition to taxing corporate profits and incomes, and also would tax the wages working people earn. Herman Cain essentially admitted in the above mentioned article his existing plan is ``insane!`` So, why do...

“If this was written about Jews she’d be fired today. If it was written about Catholics she’d be in trouble today. Because it’s written about the Mormons it can be said,” Glenn said. I want you to know I am a Mormon. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and you may not like my theology. That’s okay,” Glenn said. “I’m not asking you to join my church. I’m not asking you to join theologies or anything like that. It’s important that we keep our theologies separate and distinct. It’s important that you know...

Glenn Beck is extremely upset with how he is being treated by former colleagues at Fox News because of comments he made about Occupy Wall Street. Beck appeared on his old friend Bill O'Reilly's program last week (view clip) and expounded upon his theory that the protests are not an organic uprising of disenchanted Americans, but a global movement with Marxist roots led by several revolutionary groups like the Service Employees Union and Working Families. These revolutionary groups are funded by George Soros and the whole thing is being orchestrated by America's most famous community organiser, President Barack Obama. O'Reilly...

Remember that time, when Glenn was called crazy for predicting radical Islam, socialists/communists & anarchists would unite to destabilize and dismantle capitalism? Everyone said that was crazy talk and Glenn was of course mercilessly raked over the coals for saying so. Well, chalk another one up for the old crazy talker Glenn Beck – CAIR has now fallen in line with the Marxists, Communists and anarchists down at Occupy Wall Street. The Blaze reports,“An official invitation issued by CAIR’s New York chapter tells members to show “solidarity” with ‘the 99%” by attending Friday prayers in Zuccotti Park at 1:00pm....

The new home of Glenn Beck TV may be a former Texas mega-church. According to an article in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the popular conservative talk show host is eying a property near Dallas for his Mercury Radio Arts production company. The former Gateway Church boasts a 60,774-square-foot building with a 16,873-square-foot auditorium. Beck’s web TV show could be taped here in front of an audience of up to 1,700 people. The property recently became available when Gateway relocated to a larger campus in the area. Mercury Radio Arts told The Cutline that it is indeed looking at the church...

Glenn Beck's hate has no place in America, much less in America's favorite pastime. Sports outlets have reported that MLB Advanced Media, the interactive arm of Major League Baseball, is teaming up with the hateful conservative commentator Glenn Beck to stream his shows online. Major League Baseball's partnership with Glenn Beck is shameful and should not be giving him a platform to spew his hate and fearmongering. MLB should immediately sever their relationship with Beck.

Glenn Beck is trading ratings for runways. The media mogul is releasing his own upscale casual clothing line with patriotic undertones that lets you protest Washington tyranny — in style. The clothing line, called 1791, is Beck’s newest undertaking since leaving Fox News in June, and aims to “revisit that original blueprint of our Founding Fathers” by recalling 1791, the year the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution. The idea had been brewing for several years — Beck wanted to symbolize how hard it has become for businesses to be efficient in America. “But only last January did...

Former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin criticized President Barack Obama, "crony capitalism" and the mainstream media at an event in St. Charles with Glenn Beck Friday night. A crowd of 5,100 people attended the event at the Family Arena, just two days after Palin announced she's not running for president in 2012. Tickets to the show, which was sponsored by FM 97.1 NewsTalk, ranged from $26 to more than $100 each. The event at the St. Charles Family Arena drew a mixed crowd of Palin and Beck supporters, many of whom said they weren't surprised to hear Palin announce she...

Bennett, the former education secretary and conservative author, said that Baptist church leader Robert Jeffress had given “voice to bigotry” in his remarks.... “Do not give voice to bigotry. Do not give voice to bigotry,” Bennett said in his speech Saturday morning. “I would say to Pastor Jeffress: You stepped on and obscured the words of Perry and Santorum and Cain and Bachmann and everyone else who has spoken here. You did Rick Perry no good, sir, in what you had to say.” Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1011/65475.html#ixzz1aDiRHXC6
