Memorial Day is the day after tomorrow, but I tend to start early. "God Bless the USA" was released almost 40 years ago, and has become Our Nation's unofficial Second National Anthem. This version was released about a year ago, and I can't stop listening to it. This post is for all the young men and women who never had the chance to enjoy the freedom they purchased with their lives. We will never forget your sacrifice.

Crestview Elementary physical education teacher Mark Haeslyhas spent his entire adult life serving his country. Haesly served his fellow countrymen in the Navy from 1974-1980. Upon return from service, Haesly picked up teaching physical education to elementary school kids. By all accounts, Haesly served honorably and as a role model to countless boys and girls for nearly 37 years in teaching. Lee Greenwood sang his iconic “God Bless the USA” between periods of the NHL’s 2015 “Winter Classic” outdoor game in Washington, DC on New Year’s Day, but the real treat came off-stage in a concourse at Nationals Park. Fortunately, it was recorded on a smart phone, so you can enjoy it this Independence Day.
