FOUND ON FACEBOOK REGARDING THE SAW THAT SARAH SIGNED. --- Sarah, I'm selling the saw that you used in Alaska and signed for me to help benefit a couple of girls with some hard luck. It will go up for auction on Sunday. If anyone is interested please look up the saw on ebay. Here is why I'm selling it...Three of the family's horses were hit and killed on the Winchester grade early this week, ...two of the horses were the girls competitive rodeo mounts. It has been less than a month since they lost their sister, Stephanie, in a...

A few weeks ago, I was surprised when my dad told me that my dog, Trooper, was in the local newspaper. I said, "Trooper? Why in the world is he in the paper?" But when I saw the picture, I was delighted to see that it was a photograph from an Eagle Scout ceremony for Ben Whittington, a scout who has been helping me with Trooper's training for many years. Ben posed with Trooper for a few photos after the ceremony.

This thread is in gratitude for all you veterans who put your lives at risk to fight the forces of darkness working through unwitting dupes all over the world. Colonel Monaco has put together the patriot outreach site and their Be Still exercise is simply a miracle in helping to save the lives of so many soldiers. It has actually been used in civilian version for about 50 years and now it is taking off like wildfire in the military; because it works! And no charge for you all! God bless.

Have a question about a mortgage item. We are in the process of finalizing mortgages and we have excellent credit (over 800). We currently have two companies vying for our business and each has offered "lenders credit" towards closing costs. It sounds nice but I'm not really sure that at the end of the day, it will lower our mortgage much since our closing costs are all out of pocket. Actually, I'm not really sure what exactly a "lenders credit" is.. Help.

I started a new government job last October (Sorry that I went to the dark side, but I have to work!) I am participating in the Thrift Savings Plan and would like your opinion on which fund you would choose given the choice. The choices are: Government Securities Fixed Income Index Common Stock Index Small Cap Stock Index International Stock Index I currently have 100% contribution going to Government Securities but that just scare the crap out of me with Obama in charge. Which fund, in your opinion, would you consider the safest. I realize the tanking economy will affect...

Prepare For Obama’s Second Term: PRAY! America’s Tribulations Have Only Just Begun Obama is preparing to announce his campaign for a second term as the President of the United States . And he WILL WIN! Why? Because the Republican Party has no one with a snowball’s chance in Hades of wining against the tsunami of leftist, socialist, marxist, communist, liberal, progressive, and just plain “dumb” voters who are set to flood the polling places across America to insure Obama’s reelection. It is a crying shame the GOP has lost its will to fight. The blue bloods and the country club...

The government turned down a U.S. offer of technical help to cool overheating nuclear reactors in Fukushima Prefecture soon after last week's massive earthquake because it believed the offer was "premature," The Yomiuri Shimbun has learned. The reactors have since been hit by several explosions and radiation has leaked out. Some observers believe this could have been prevented if the government had accepted the U.S. offer.

To Japanese and Japan-based Freepers: What's the best, quickest way of getting aid to people on the ground directly -- via local groups, religious instutitons, etc. I'd rather not give it to an international bureaucracy like the Red Cross (Japanese website was confusing), other NGO's or government. This is being posted Front/Breaking because I imagine a lot of other Freepers want this info and, let's face it, it's an emergency over there and these people need quick, effective help as soon as they can get it. I've seen too many stories of waste, corruption and abuse (Haiti, Katrina, etc.) and...

I am working at getting my Very Conservative and very dedicated daughter through college. She's been accepted at five of them, and is most interested in a Christian private college that has some steep financial costs. Can anyone recommend scholarships from conservative sources? I would think she would be the exception to the rule in college...she's been raised right, and rolls her eyes every time the President shows up on TV.

Fox News says the United States has deployed some Marines and two amphibious ships to help with the evacuations in Libya. The news comes one day after the U.S. moved naval and air forces closer to Libya and said all options were open, including patrols of the North African nation's skies to protect its citizens from their ruler, Muammar Qaddafi. The Obama administration is demanding that Gadhafi relinquish power immediately. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned that Libya is at risk of collapsing into a "protracted civil war" amid increasingly violent clashes between the two sides. On Tuesday, U.S....

Dear FReepers, I'm looking for advice about taking the equity out of my vacation home. As I watch real estate plummet, is it time to cash out of that house while I can still get value out? After applying for a home mortgage; 30 years at 4.3% they are willing to give me 650K. Taking that money and putting it into commodities, I think I can grow my out of this economy. What do the rest of you guys think about this idea? I would also appreciate advice on where to invest this 650K? Thank You FReepers, my valuble brain...

Not content with backdooring the unequivocally unpopular cap-and-trade legislation through regulating carbon emissions, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has looked to further cripple American energy producers, manufacturers, and businesses by blanketing the industries in bureaucratic uncertainty. Last Thursday, the EPA revoked a permit it issued more than three years ago for the Spruce No. 1 Mine in Logan Country, West Virginia citing the Clean Water Act Mingo Logan, a subsidiary of Arch Coal, obtained the permit in 2007 after a decade of review and costly analysis determined the project to be in accordance with the CWA. Since obtaining the permit...

I need some help! Lately, I've been getting a vile pop up. Its far beyond any other ad I've encountered on the web. Appearing randomly, in the sidebars and ad spaces of completely innocuous websites, is an ad which says 'sl*ts of facebook', or some other offensive message, but always referring to facebook. In every ad is an uncensored image of a completely naked woman. I don't know is there's some virus on my computer; I've tried running spybot several times, with no result. If any other FReeper has faced such a problem, and/or knows how to stop it from...
