The peaceniks strike back. Last week, I wrote about Joshua Sparling, a disabled 82nd Airborne Division veteran who says he was mistreated by anti-war protestors at a Jan. 29 rally in Washington, D.C.. Sparling and a few dozen others went to the National Mall to stage a counterprotest amid the tens of thousands of people denouncing U.S. involvement in Iraq. Sparling says he was cursed at, called names and threatened with physical harm. Since then, calls and letters have come in from the other side. A number of blogs and Internet sites have detailed Sparling’s activities, too. All together, they...

At Hannity Forums liberals, leftists and democrats are accusing Joshua Sparling of working with conservatives / FReepers to set this confrontation with war protesters up intentionally as a publicity stunt so Joshua can get more name recognition for himself. Plus other typical anti-American and anti-US military type statements. --- Why Joshua Sparling should never leave the househttp://www.hannity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235591 (the liberal leftist democrat who started this thread could use a good slappin' around along with others who will be obvious by their hatred of our military) Liberal leftist democrats spit at Iraq War hero Joshua Sparling yesterday in DChttp://www.hannity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235355 (I started this...

<p>Tens of thousands of demonstrators from across the country converged on the Mall in Washington today to urge the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq as President Bush is proposing to send more troops in an effort to stabilize the country.</p>

I'm angry. I'm angry at the 'antiwar' protesters who heaped abuse on our troops. And I'm angry at the people who couldn't be bothered to stand up for our troops yesterday.Tens of thousands of anti-American leftists and their dupes marched on our nation's capital calling for America's defeat in the war on terror in Iraq.Only about forty people could be bothered to turn out in support of America's victory in Iraq. Among those forty was a civilian POW held by the North Vietnamese communists and several Iraq war veterans--including wounded warriors who left the hospital to stand up for their...

Free Republic's Kristinn Taylor had his excellent first hand report linked to by Michelle Malkin below. --- Spitting at a war hero By Michelle Malkin · January 28, 2007 10:19 PM Readers of this blog will remember the name Joshua Sparling. In December 2005, the Iraq war veteran received a disgusting, anti-war death wish card while being treated at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. for injuries from a bomb explosion in Ramadi. Last month, his right leg was amputated. And this weekend, while participating in a counter-protest against the moonbat convergence, he was spit at by anti-war demonstrators....

FReep #47: On March 10th, we not only held ALL FOUR CORNERS of the main gate at Walter Reed (for the eighth week in a row), but we drove Code Pink off its new "vigil" perch as well! The Pinkos, still holding their weekly blood-dance waaaaay down the block, were caught off-guard and flat-footed in a trap brought about by their own overzealous use of the D.C. Police. We are very fortunate that these intellectual light-weights still haven't learned their lesson when it comes to permits. Hey Gael! Next time you call the cops on FReepers, make sure you have...

Pfc. Joshua Sparling Many of you will remember the story of Pfc. Joshua Sparling, the wounded soldier who received a disgusting death-wish greeting card in December while hospitalized at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Sean Hannity has kept close contact with Sparling and interviewed him yesterday about his condition. Sad news: Sparling's leg will have to be amputated below the knee--but he wants to "get back to [Fort Bragg] and "jump right back in his unit (the 82nd Airborne)." We are so fortunate to have men like Pfc. Sparling. I've uploaded the audio. Listen here (thanks to reader Tony J.)....

February 4, 2006 Joshua Sparling Discusses His Progress On Sean Hannity Show (AUDIO) PFC Joshua Sparling of the 82nd Airborne phoned in on Thursday’s edition of The Sean Hannity Show to discuss his progress. Sparling injured his leg while serving in Iraq. When he received medical attention it was thought that his leg would have to be removed, however he has had several surgeries and is going through a long recovery process. Sparling was made famous when he received what he thought was a ‘get well’ card, but was actually a death wish. Sean Hannity visited Sparling during a...

He was on special assignment in Ramadi, Iraq when his leg was terribly wounded by an improvised explosive device on Nov. 18. He is now recuperating from his wounds at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. “I am proud and honored that Josh and his...

PFC. JOSHUA SPARLING SPEAKS By Michelle Malkin · January 22, 2006 01:22 PM Joshua Sparling, the injured soldier who received that disgusting death-wish greeting card before Christmas last month, is on the road to recovery. Doctors have given him good odds that his leg will be saved. The Political Teen has the latest and also has posted audio links to Pfc. Sparling's radio interviews on the Sean Hannity show. Reader Tony J. reports that Sparling "took his first steps since this injury, walking (hopping) 12 feet to the door and 10 feet back to the chair to sit down. He...

I had the privilege of meeting Joshua Sparling's father and brother at yesterday evening's FReep. (History of Joshua here.) They came down to meet us, and Joshua was kind enough to send some candy and other goodies down for our supportive vigil. More details will be in the weekly AAR, but I wanted to touch on one point. Although the response to Joshua's predicament has been absolutely overwhelming, they have only received six cards - total - from Michigan. Why is that such a big deal? It's Joshua's home. And he's been featured in several newspapers, including Lansing's publication. I...

GOOD WISHES FOR PFC. JOSHUA SPARLING By Michelle Malkin · December 23, 2005 12:10 PM Pfc. Joshua Sparling Here's an update on the injured soldier who received that sick death-wish card at Walter Reed Army Hospital. The Port Huron Times Herald reports: As Joshua Sparling lay in his hospital bed, just a couple of days after being wounded by a bomb in Iraq, he got a letter. The letter, addressed to "any soldier," wasn't meant to lift the spirits of someone just injured in battle. Instead, the letter, written in what looked like a child's handwriting, told Pfc. Sparling, 24,...

<p>Since I go to Walter Reed frequently, I made an offer on the first thread of delivering cards and goodies directly to some patients if people so desired. Several kind people took me up on that offer, and the following is my description of my visits on 9 and 16 Dec. A friend, LandryFan, accompanied me on the second part of the good cheer tour, affectionately dubbed Operation Smother (as in smother ‘em with love) by yours truly.</p>

UNHINGED SCUMBAG OF THE YEAR By Michelle Malkin · December 18, 2005 02:07 PM Lowlife Michael Crook, the troop-smearing, cop-bashing, white supremacist sicko, is claming responsibility for the despicable death-wish greeting card received by injured soldier Joshua Sparling at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Recall that the card was signed "Miguel." Crook also claims that he sent similar letters to VFW halls across the country, as well as to the Veteran's Hospital in Syracuse. From Crook's blog (I don't want to send him traffic, but you can find his blog here if you have the stomach for it): For those that...

NOTE: I don't know if this is the POS who sent the hatemail to Joshua Sparling at Walter Reed, but he is taking credit for it. ====================================================================== http://www.michaelcrooktalks.com/node/121 Yes I did it Submitted by michaelcrook on Sat, 12/17/2005 - 2:06pm. Rants For those that have e-mailed or IM'd me regarding the card sent to Joshua Sparling, yes I did it. I do not regret a minute of it. I even included a jab at my detractors, by signing it "Miguel". Here in the photo, the card obviously made it to its intended destination, his hands and his hospital room. Enjoy...

For those that have e-mailed or IM'd me regarding the card sent to Joshua Sparling, yes I did it. I do not regret a minute of it. I even included a jab at my detractors, by signing it "Miguel". Oh, and for the veteran scum at various, randomly chosen VFW halls across the country-- including Fountain Hills, AZ; Dayton, OH; Syracuse, NY; Mays Landing, NJ; Houston TX, and more.... you're welcome for your "special" cards and faxes. And, yes, I was the "heartless SOB" that sent four cards to the Veterans Hospital on Irving Avenue in Syracuse. No, I don't...

In case you missed the show, Josh was wounded in Iraq on November 20, and by the time he arrived at Walter Reed Medical Center he was almost immediately carted in for surgery. With a down moment he opened up a card which — on the surface — seemed like a patriotic "get well soon" kids' note, only to open and see it said this verbatim: Dear, Soldier Have a great time into he war and have a great time dieing in the war from Solider Miguel P.S. DIE. This was the only card on his wall. As much pain...
