  • Dempsey’s Bombshell: No US Attack on Iran, Ever

On 19 July 2013, Martin E. Dempsey, the Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, delivered an unclassified letter to Senator Carl Levin concerning the risks of US military intervention in Syria. While the letter is was ostensibly delivered to the Senate, it actually delivered the equivalent to ten American thermonuclear bombs hitting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem simultaneously. While the letter was supposedly written by Dempsey, it was surely approved and intensely vetted by President Obama himself. So while the letter had Dempsey’s signature, it was Obama’s policy. The Dempsey/Obama letter outlined all the catastrophic effects which would...

  • No-fly zone over Syria could run $1 billion a month to do … nothing

A day ago, Senator John McCain told Newsmax that the US needs to impose a no-fly zone in Syria to “negate Bashar Assad’s power” and force the regime to the negotiating table. Hours later, after McCain and Carl Levin demanded answers from the Joint Chiefs on why the military has not recommended this option, Joint Chiefs chair Martin Dempsey responded that a no-fly zone would cost between $500 million and $1 billion a month — and would largely be a non-sequitur anyway: "The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has told the Senate Armed Services Committee that establishing a...

The nation's top military officer has laid out five options the Obama administration is considering on Syria, including "limited" strikes against the Assad regime and an all-out campaign to secure chemical weapons that includes "thousands" of U.S. forces. Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, revealed the options in a letter to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich. The letter was sent Monday as, on the other side of the Hill, the House Intelligence Committee signed off on the administration's call to arm the Syria opposition -- though the committee, which held that up for...

Some might recall Lt. Col. Matthew Dooley, the decorated Army officer (who says) he was fired last year from his position as a war college instructor because of his teachings about jihad and Islam. Now, he’s suffered another setback in his career: he’s been rejected as commander of a combat battalion.[snip]“But after 18 years of hard work, family sacrifice, six deployments and outstanding officer evaluations, Matt’s dream was shattered by Gen. Dempsey.”[snip]...“Yet, despite Gen. Dempsey’s personal attacks on LTC Dooley, a command review board consisting of generals and colonels voted to retain LTC Dooley on the list for battalion command....

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., issued a sharp and unusual challenge to the truthfulness of the nation’s top uniformed military commander on Thursday, demanding that U.S. Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, return to Capitol Hill to provide fresh testimony on the Benghazi attacks. The point of contention involved whether any military officers issued an order to U.S. armed forces personnel on the night of Sept. 11, when the U.S. consulate and a nearby annex came under terrorist attack, to “stand down” from providing assistance. “I asked [Gen. Dempsey] directly,” Graham said in an exclusive interview...

Three American civilians and three U.S. troops were killed in Afghanistan on Saturday, officials said, marking the deadliest day for Americans in the country this year and suggesting that even as the military coalition has shifted its focus to drawing down, the Taliban remains committed to fighting. The attacks came as Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, arrived in Afghanistan to take stock of the war as U.S. officials continue to deliberate how quickly they should pull out the 68,000 American troops still deployed in the country. Coming days after an unusually deadly coordinated attack...

The real war against women is the announced plan of the Obama administration, using outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta as the fall guy, to assign women for the first time in American history to fight our nation’s enemies in military ground combat. That’s real war, with real guns, real bullets and real deaths. This war doesn’t involve only women who have volunteered to serve in our military. It’s a real war against all 18-year-old American girls, because for the first time in our nation’s history they will be required to sign up for the draft and be ready for...

Of all of the characteristics one might ascribe to Susan Rice, prescience is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. Surprisingly however, five years ago she said something that demonstrated a momentary clarity of vision that is staggering. In a March 2008 interview she said the following: “Clinton hasn’t had to answer the phone at 3:00 in the morning, and yet she attacked Barack Obama for not being ready. They’re both not ready to have that 3 AM phone call.” If the events immediately following Benghazi showed Ambassador Rice to be a hapless marionette of the administration, the...

The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced late last week that it is representing U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Dooley, a 1994 Graduate of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point and released the letter sent by 57 Muslim groups demanding the removal of military instructions that they say is offensive to Islam. In April 2012, LTC Dooley, a highly decorated combat veteran, was publically condemned by General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and relieved of his teaching assignment because of the negative way...

Israel is in a political and security quandary. Officials are convinced it’s only a matter of time before Iran uses its nuclear capability against the Jewish state, living up to the dire threats its leaders have been making for years now. But Israeli leaders also fear they will lose the window of opportunity to deal a devastating military blow to Iran’s nuclear development if such a strike is not conducted by October of this year. Why? Because they believe Barack Obama has a reasonable expectation of being re-elected to the White House – and, if he is, he is likely,...

I find it difficult to know if this is merely a further attempt to ratchet up the pressure on the Obama administration and Iran or if it is the real deal. I read on Drudge and other places (certainly not the MSM) that Israel is going to attack Iran before the election. I couldn’t figure out why they would do that until I listened to Mark Taylor sitting in for Dennis Prager yesterday. He says the reason they want to do it is to force Obama to back them which they figure he would do because of the election. If they wait until after the election they are afraid he will not…will probably condemn them. And they can’t take the chance that Obama will lose because their country is at stake....

Karl Vick and Aaron Klein report in Time Magazine, August 31, that the Obama Administration has decided to drastically reduce US involvement in planned joint military exercises with Israel scheduled for October. Time also reports that long promised missile interception systems will not be delivered by the US to Israel at that time. This news comes as Iran tests missiles and ramps up rhetoric calling for Israel's destruction. Time reports that Patriot missiles will be delivered to Israel without trained personnel and one instead of the two promised Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense warships will be docked on Israel's coast. Obama's...
