Gov. Chris Christie talks about changing from an “entitlement” society to a resourceful society. He also discusses how difficult it was to pass almost his complete budget in the New Jersey Legislature. Co-host Mika tried to play devil’s advocate by complaining about raising taxes on public employees by a maximum of 1.5%. Money quotes: “There is no more money to print” On taxing junk food: “We already tax cigarettes.” Joe Scarborough to Gov. Christie passing a constitutional 2.5% cap on taxes: “You rock!”

When Republican Sen. Strom Thurmond died, the MSM was quick to stress his segregationist past. The New York Times ran the headline "Strom Thurmond, Foe of Integration, Dies at 100," leaving readers to imagine the South Carolinian had remained an advocate of segregation. The very first line of USA Today's story described Thurmond as "the nation's most prominent segregationist." Strange how the MSM can suddenly become reticent about mentioning someone's segregationist past when the late politician in question is a Democrat. Great idea. While we're at it, let's invite al Qaeda to a conference on Israel's future . . . On Morning Joe today, Zbigniew Brzezinski recommended that the US organize an "international conference" on Afghanistan's future—and invite Iran to participate. The former Carter National Security Advisor didn't say what positive contributions he might expect from a country working in defiance of international sanctions to develop nuclear weapons and which has stated its desire to wipe Israel off the map. Joe Scarborough and the “Morning Joe” crew bring out the race card and whine about the Drudge Report’s “Obama goes street” headline, saying it has “racial overtones.” Joe Scarborough said, “I thought we were beyond this.” How can some people see racism in absolutely everything?

When it comes to heart-wrenching images, forget about those oil-plunged pelicans. What appears to really move Norah O'Donnell is the plight of . . . Pres. Obama's White House staffers. All week, the biggest inside joke in broadcasting has been news of an "expanded" version of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski's syndicated radio program coming just as the current one appears to have abruptly ended. Hot sparks flew on the set of MSNBC's Morning Joe today igniting a brief but entertaining firestorm. The cause? Joan Walsh somehow being unable to name any leftwing extremists. This set off an angry reaction from co-host Mika Brzezinski which included a funny impersonation of a conveniently clueless Walsh. Here is video of Illinois GOP Rep. Aaron Schock on "Morning Joe" where he talked about the upcoming 2010 Midterm Elections. Schock said as early as late this summer or early Fall, Republicans will bring forward what will be called the "Commitment with America," which will echo many of the principles that were a part of the 1994 "Contract with America," when Republicans swept to victory in the House of Representatives. Schock said the message with be focused on cutting spending, balanced budgets, and pro-Growth economic policies.

If you've tuned on the news, specifically MSNBC, you don't have to watch for very long to see the network views focusing on fringe elements of the right as a newsworthy endeavor. Financial guru Jim Cramer says ObamaCare would: 1. break the federal budget; 2. cause federal income tax rates to rise to 50-60%; and 3. cause capital gains and dividends to be taxed like ordinary income [i.e., at those 50-60% rates instead of the current 5-15%]. New conservative spectator sport: watching MSM liberals lock horns over ObamaCare . . . Today's Morning Joe offered a hugely-entertaining example. Larry O'Donnell, speaking from the Olympian heights of his omniscience of the legislative process, mercilessly condescended to Donny Deutsch. Ad-man Deutsch had earlier twice "guaranteed" that ObamaCare would pass. So much for the MSM refrain about Republicans having previously used reconciliation just as Dems are proposing to do so now on ObamaCare . . . Larry O'Donnell has emphatically proclaimed that the way Dems intend to use reconciliation is "unprecedented" and has "never, never, never" been so used before. So Pat Buchanan asked Howard Dean on today's Morning Joe about when in Pres. Obama's past he had made a tough decisive executive decision. Howard Dean responded by saying we are going to have learn just as the segment ended. It is at the end of the clip.

Yep, MSNBC’s Larry O’Donnell had another unhinged cable TV moment today. He’s been screaming on the airwaves for years.
