Lesson: If you're NY State Comptroller and the only one who oversees the $140+ billion state pension fund, don't accept money for directing funds to certain investment firms. Because you could end up like Alan Hevesi—71 years old with health problems and looking at one to four years in prison. City Room posted his mugshot and it's a far cry from his 2006 mugshot, where he admitted to misusing state staffers to chauffeur his sick wife around (he was a felon, but didn't get jail time). Shortly after entering Ulster Correctional last week, Hevesi was admitted the prison infirmary. His...

Has it really come to this ... this ... this travesty of political correctness? What kind of a crazy, mixed-up world is it when your mugshot doesn't reveal how you really look? The audacity! For murder suspect Eduardo Ibarra Perez gets to save face. He might have a violent past and may have been arrested for shooting his wife in the head, but at least the world doesn't get to see his man boobs, in his LAPD most wanted profile.

Red-FACED American officials have withdrawn a photofit mugshot of terror chief Osama bin Laden - after admitting they used a Spanish politician's face. The "wanted" image of the al-Qaeda leader as he might look now without his trademark long beard and turban was posted on the internet by the FBI. But it was based on a photograph of Communist MP Gaspar Llamazares found on Google by an FBI technician who was dissatisfied with his collection of photofit facial features - and launched a web search, keying in "faces" with "Islamic names".

A McMechen man whose mugshot won a measure of Internet fame is planning to sue companies he says are profiting from the image. Patrick Tribett was arrested in Bellaire, Ohio, in 2005. Police say he had been huffing the fumes from gold spraypaint, and the lower half of his face was golden in his mugshot. New Martinsville lawyer H. John Rogers says the image has appeared on T-shirts, coffee mugs and even a billboard in Europe. [snip]

In her police mugshot, Nour Hadid is shown with bare shoulders and no headscarf (left). By custom, some practicing women wear a hijab (right). The police booking photo of alleged child killer Nour Hadid released Tuesday is an "insult against our religion," says Hadid's husband, Alaeddin. Orland Park police detectives say the 26-year-old Muslim woman was treated as any other suspect in a murder probe would be, and they did not intend to humiliate her when they photographed her Sunday without her headscarf and wearing only a skimpy top. Significance of the hijab Many devout American Muslim women wear...

It is probably hard to plan these things. Most people don't know ahead of time that they will be arrested. So the safest thing to do is to wear your Obama shirt every single day. That way, when you are charged with a felony, at least everybody will know, you are an Obama Felon. Not just some apathetic, apolitical felon - you are a felon and your guy is Barack Obama. More . . .

You have to hand it to mugshotdujour -- sweetness is the simplicity of the insult: "Barron Asher was arrested for assaulting us with his hair. In the words of Daniel, who sent this gem to me (thanks again David!), every girl wants to bring him home to mom and dad."

A compelling subject, of course. And a cow costume never hurts. David Huckabee, 26, the son of former Gov. Mike Huckabee, was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly attempting to board an airplane with a handgun at Little Rock National Airport. According to the police report, the gun was a Glock and had a clip in it. Huckabee was asked if he knew what was in the bag, and “he replied he did now.” The report says he told authorities that he forgot the gun was in...
