Yesterday, out of the blue, I clicked on Howlin's Facebook page and learned that she'd passed away. I found her obituary and learned that she had departed on September 19, 2018 at the age of 72. She was a mainstay at Free Republic and her last post there was on April 22, 2007. I liked her a lot and I will miss her.

We have heard from his brother that Steve0113 (Stephen Burke) has passed away. Steve passed away from cancer and ESRD in September 2015. Steve's wife Nina0113 was also a FReeper and she passed away in 2011. The 0113 represents their wedding day, January 13. Prayers for their family and loved ones. Received a message from his wife that Dale Reed has passed away. Dale was a long-term conservative activist and a FReeper since nearly the beginning of Free Republic. He was one of the founding members of our Southern California Chapter. Dale and his wife and several members from Southern California were present at the 1998 picnic and meeting in Fresno where our activism efforts through chapters were basically born. Mrs. smoothsailing contacted me today to relate that longtime FReeper smoothsailing passed away yesterday, 9-13-16 of pancreatic cancer. Smoothsailing will be missed here at FR, he was a staunch conservative, a true patriot and a gentleman. He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pennsylvania.
