For people of faith in America, the Obama administration's birth control mandate represents an unprecedented assault on religious conscience. It seems that the President and his surrogates have little appreciation for the role that faith plays in the lives of many Americans, and even less respect for the Constitution's protection of religious liberty. As if to confirm this impression, the U.S. Justice Department is doubling down on the Administration's anti-faith stance with a lawsuit against a German family seeking religious asylum in the United States. According to our esteemed Attorney General, the right to choose the best education for your...

Countries of the world gathered at the United Nations in New York on 2-27 July 2012 for an historical initiative in the area of conventional arms: to negotiate an Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). The Treaty would establish high common standards for international trade in conventional arms. The Conference could not reach agreement on a treaty text. The General Assembly of the United Nations has decided to convene a Final Conference on the ATT, in March 2013, to conclude the work begun in July 2012.

New Jersey police and Dept. of Children and Families officials raided the home of a firearms instructor and demanded to see his guns after he posted a Facebook photo of his 11-year-old son holding a rifle.

“Someone called family services about the photo,” said Evan Nappen, an attorney representing Shawn Moore. “It led to an incredible, heavy-handed raid on his house. They wanted to see his gun safe, his guns and search his house. They even threatened to take his kids.” Moore was not arrested or charged.

Uwe and Hannelore Romeike fled to the United States in 2008, claiming the German government had denied their religious freedom by forbidding them from homeschooling their children. Now, the Obama administration is trying to send them back, even though the Romeikes might lose their children if they’re deported to Germany. The outcome of this case could have repercussions that extend beyond the Romeike family, redefining the American interpretation of human-rights law and affecting American homeschoolers. Homeschoolers are a small minority in Germany; the Homeschool Legal Defense Association put the number of homeschool families at about 400. German law mandates that...

The Bill of Rights is comprised of the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, and the town of Newfield, N.J., appears hell-bent on repealing every single one of them. Newfield homeowner Eileen Hart attended an informal meeting Saturday to discuss property “revaluations” in light of the findings by Appraisal System’s Inc., a firm hired by New Jersey to assess the fair market value of properties in each county.

  • Supreme Court to weigh states' rights vs. voting rights [Arguments TODAY!]

When the Supreme Court hears arguments today in a direct challenge to a central part of the Voting Rights Act, it will once again wade into a decades-old dispute over voting rights that has its roots in the country's long history of racism... On its face, the challenge to the Voting Rights Act is about how state and local officials run elections. But states' rights have underpinned much of the opposition to the law since it was first enacted, and today's hearing will feature familiar arguments. The issue is Section 5 of the law, which requires all or part of...
  • CAN YOU GET THE SUPERVISORS IN YOUR COUNTRY TO SUPPORT THE SECOND AMENDMENT?

    02/26/2013 7:47:54 PM PST · by helpfulresearcher · 12 replies
There is a groundswell of support for the Second Amendment across America, yet the media has given it almost no coverage. In California the Board of Supervisors in El Dorado county and in Siskiyou county passed resolutions in defense of the Second Amendment. Even the local papers in Siskyou and El Dorado counties refused to carry the story when their own Boards of Supervisors passed these resolutions. The media is spiking the story. Perhaps they hope they can stop the groundswell of support for the Second Amendment by censorship.

Recently a discussion of this story about DC Comics being pressured by homosexual activists to fire one of its writers because he’s on the board of the National Organization of Marriage prompted vigorous debate on my Facebook wall. While perusing through the various comments, it was obvious there still exists much confusion in our country today about the term “rights.” There are two types of rights: unalienable and contractual. Sometimes referred to as a natural right (i.e. “the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God” reference from The Declaration of Independence), an unalienable right is a right that comes from God...

The ground war over gun control after the Newtown, Conn. massacre has begun. Across the country, members of Congress are being hit with grassroots campaigns and ads aimed at pushing them to one side or the other in the current debate over gun violence. On Friday, the remnants of President Obama’s reelection campaign will hold its first “Day Of Action” since the November election, rallying its millions of supporters to join the call for gun control legislation at grassroots events nationwide[snip] The National Rifle Association is targeting several members with ads of its own, running (full page news paper…) spots…….

The most disheartening event in the country this week wasn’t the State of the Union address, though that was certainly ugly enough. And it wasn’t the finale of the Chris Dorner rampage, which was certainly horrific enough in its waste of human life. From the standpoint of the picture it paints for us of America circa 2013, it’s the reaction to Dorner. The reaction of the Left to Dorner is hideous enough. It’s personified by the vapid, disgusting and degenerate Marc Lamont Hill, who finds deep meaning – and excitement – in Dorner’s senseless mayhem and unhinged online ramblings… If...

Yesterday I decided to head-out and get a bit more ammo before the Obama and his congressional minions had a chance to impose more regulation and/or bans... Luckily, I picked up 8mm, .357, and 12-gauge shells, and after a considerable wait in line it was my turn to pay. So then the cashier says 'strip down, facing me.' I couldn't believe it- all I could think was 'this time these pinheads in Congress have gone WAY too far...' Making a mental note to complain to the manager about the gun registry people running amok, I did just as she had instructed....

The Land of Enchantment is a physically beautiful land indeed, yet one with the misfortune to be so traditionally misgoverned by our liberal Democrat majority as to be relegated too frequently to the very lowest rankings of the states when it comes to poverty, education, health, etc. Once in a while, however, we do find something besides our majestic landscapes to be proud of. A statement just issued by the New Mexico Sheriffs' Association and signed by 29 of 33 county sheriffs, declaring that their oaths of office don't require them to enforce federal laws they consider unconstitutional, provides New...

She speaks often on socialism and how Adolf Hitler took power. This is from her 2009 essay: America Truly is the Greatest Country in the World. Don’t Let Freedom Slip Away The Final Steps – Gun Laws: Next came gun registration. People were getting injured by guns.
