Kristine Knizner, 28, a teacher at Irving Middle School in Springfield and Key Middle School in Franconia, was recently arrested after a brief inquiry, according to Fairfax County police. Conservatives are always on the retreat. In fact, our constant giving of ground has created a government that no longer even follows its own laws. The conservative "battle" goes something like this: "Sodomy is illegal because it violates God's law." So the "Supreme" Court decides to legalize it. "OK", says the conservatives, "but we aren't baking any cakes for homo weddings." The "Supreme" Court then says it is illegal to refuse to do so because it "discriminates" against homos. "OK", says the conservatives, "but no way are we going to let them get married." The "Supreme" Court then rules that...

The father of a 12-year-old Omaha boy charged with first-degree murder is serving a life sentence in Minnesota for killing a man in 2010. Javaris Eugene Milton, 37, was convicted of first-degree murder in what Minneapolis authorities said was a marijuana-related robbery attempt. The crime is eerily similar to accusations that the boy, Jarrell Milton, his older brother and another teenager are facing in Douglas County.

Kylee Moss, a 7-year-old-girl from Belton, Missouri, was sent home from school with a note to her mother saying that the 54-pound child’s Body Mass Index (BMI) was too high. Aside from the idiocy of using a discredited measurement for body fat, what are these administrators thinking? Obviously, they’re not. If they had two working brain cells, they would take one look at this kid and realize the stupidity of believing their “measurements.”

In one Pennsylvania public school, reading from the Bible is forbidden -- but reading about witches and Halloween is encouraged. Wesley Busch is a kindergarten student at Culbertson Elementary School in Newton Square, Pennsylvania -- and all he wanted to do was have his mother read aloud from his favorite book, the Bible. The book reading was part of a classroom assignment called "All About Me," the purpose of which was to provide students an opportunity to identify individual interests and learn about each other through the use of items such as stuffed animals, posters, books and other mediums. Jeremy...

Colette Roberts likes to tell people that having four teenagers in the house at one time gave her plenty of reasons to get upset, but her daughter being a lesbian was not one of them. It is a story - and a pragmatic attitude - that comes in handy as Roberts tries to offer comfort and perspective to parents and family members who seek help from the Howard County chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, which she co-founded. For 10 years, Roberts has been the one at the other end of the phone when people call...

LONDON, November 28, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The weekend edition of the London Times carries a report that provides insight into what pro-lifers identify as the moral vacuity of media representation of abortion. In a story on “botched” abortions the Times reports on the latest British medical scandal: that some of the intended victims survive. A government agency has published a report titled, “Confidential Enquiry into Maternal and Child Health (CEMACH),” that shows, to the horror of the British medical establishment, that up to 50 babies survive abortion every year in Britain. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, says the...

From Part I Indeed, what is exerting this irresistible pressure to conform (by "rebelling") on most of today's youth? Just as the military and private schools and Boy Scouts have uniforms, so does the youth culture: baggy pants, backward hats, chokers and other jewelry, body piercings, tattoos and the like. But if uniforms symbolize values and allegiance, a loyalty to a higher (or lower) order, then in this case it's an allegiance to an increasingly defiant musical, social, sexual and cultural world, a mysterious (to parents) realm that seems magically to be drawing millions of children into it. For three...
