A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York, has ordered the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to make the morning-after birth control pill available to people of any age without a prescription. The order overturned a 2011 decision by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to require a prescription for girls under 17. The FDA said it couldn't comment because it is an ongoing legal mater. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommended last year that oral contraceptives be sold over the counter in an effort to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies in the United States. Opponents of...

Where to begin? We met with staff members from seven DC Senate offices on Monday. We had come to talk about the Indian Child Welfare Act and how it infringes on the right of children and parents. But sitting next to this young woman, who comes from the same reservation as my husband… I realized there is so, so much more we all need to talk about. She told how she was abused and used sexually as a child. She said she was first given to a man at the age of ten. Her sisters were also given to men....

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) defended his relationship with Florida doctor and political donor Salomon Melgen in an interview with Univision on Friday, saying he didn’t do anything on his friend’s behalf that he doesn’t regularly do for others. Melgen, a close friend of Menendez’s, reportedly overbilled the U.S. government by almost $9 million in Medicare payments, inviting a federal audit. Menendez acknowledged contacting officials to complain that the Medicare billing rules were unclear, but the senator denied that his close ties to Melgen had anything to do with him raising the issue. “The fact that someone is a donor does...

Ms. Magazine tweeted this on January 28… … linking to this post on its blog: She was 14 years old and going into the 9th grade. From the moment she learned she was pregnant, she contemplated what to do. Not comprehending how to even deliver a baby (let alone how to take care of a child for the rest of her life) prompted grave fears about her future. Being the eldest of an immigrant family of seven, she learned early to take on the role of her family’s translator and primary caretaker. She could not fathom how she would tell...

Conservatives are always told they don't do enough to reach across the aisle. We're divisive, obstructionist and hostile to bipartisanship. So in the spirit of unity and comity, I'm announcing the formation of a new social justice group: Ladies Against Senator Sleaze-Bob. Now all I need are some principled Democratic ladies and liberal media lionesses to step up to the plate with me to protest the vulgar, sexist behavior of Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J. Surely, Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Cher, Sandra Fluke, Eva Longoria and I can all agree that when a powerful Washington politician abuses his power to...

On Friday it was revealed that the FBI is investigating Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) for allegedly sleeping with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic. Despite this, when Menendez was given a six-minute interview with Martha Raddatz on ABC's This Week Sunday, he was not asked one question about the investigation or the allegations (commentary follows with full transcript at end of post): Raddatz began the interview asking Menendez about what Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) had previously said on the program concerning immigration. She followed this up by asking Menendez what he wanted to hear from the President about this issue....

The media are not covering this story despite the FBI agent in the emails saying that most of the information has been confirmed. If the allegations are true Menendez could be prosecuted under the 2003 PROTECT ACT making travel and having sex with minors knowingly or not a federal offense with up to 30 years in prison. DOCUMENTS published online for the first time Thursday indicate that the FBI opened an inquiry into New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez on August 1, 2012, focusing on repeated trips he took to the Dominican Republic with longtime campaign contributor and Miami eye...

From the A-List (Alec Baldwin) to the B-List (Ellen Barkin) to the C minus-List (Rosanne Barr) Hollywood liberals just ooze class. But if you want to find real high-brow discourse, you sometimes have to reach down to the sub-D-list. That’s where you’ll find Jason Biggs, who trades in filthy, perverted tweets about Ann Romney and Janna Ryan. And his wife, some-time actress Jenny Mollen, who has no problem with her spouse’s self-expression. In fact, Mollen likes to chime in herself, as she did recently, with a tasteful, sophisticated joke about her husband committing statutory rape on 8th grade children. Biggs’s...

President Obama weighed in on the national storm surrounding by Rep. Todd Akin, calling his comments "offensive." "The views expressed were offensive. Rape is rape," Obama said in a surprise appearance at the White House briefing. "And the idea that we should be parsing and qualifying and slicing what types of rape we're talking about doesn't make sense to the American people. And certainly doesn't make sense to me," Obama said.

Parents may pay the price for an illicit love affair between a teenage girl and her grown-up boyfriend. Stephen Rogers Jr. faces a charge of statutory rape, but police have also charged his girlfriend's parents with child neglect. But some do not see this as a black-and-white kind of issue. The young love between a 15-year-old girl and her 21-year-old boyfriend has this neighborhood taking sides. "Some 15 year olds may...

A proposed resolution to commend the Boy Scouts of America on its 102nd anniversary died today in an Assembly committee because the measure did not urge the group to accept gays and lesbians. Instead, the Assembly Judiciary Committee passed a separate resolution that applauded the Boy Scouts but said its policy against accepting homosexuals is harmful and discriminatory -- and should be reconsidered. The measure that passed, crafted by committee Chairman Mike Feuer, D-Los Angeles, encouraged the group to "accept for membership and leadership positions all qualified boys and men, without discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or religious...

Girls as young as 13 can get the Pill without seeing a doctor for the first time. Teenagers below the legal age of consent will be able to walk into their local pharmacist and get the contraceptive tablets over the counter. The scheme, which is being introduced in a bid to reduce soaring underage pregnancy rates, will mean young girls can go on the Pill without informing their parents. But critics warn that it is effectively giving teenagers a license to have more sex, so will just encourage greater promiscuity.

The world’s largest pro-pedophilia advocacy group uses Facebook to connect with its members throughout the world; to find and exchange photos of children; to hone its members' predatory behavior; and to identify, target and reel in child victims, an investigation by FoxNews.com reveals. Facebook says it has a strict policy against the posting of content that supports groups engaged in child exploitation, yet a simple, five-second search on Facebook, conducted on Sept. 23, yielded dozens of pages devoted to the infamous North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). Many of those pages featured numerous photos of unnamed boys, some of whom...
