The Syracuse University Board of Trustees is considering revoking the honorary degree given to Rudy Giuliani, the Daily Orange reported Tuesday. A senior at Syracuse University is the subject of a discrimination investigation after spewing a racist and homophobic rant that was caught on camera. The young woman shown spewing hateful remarks in the video shared to Instagram has been identified as Hanna Strong, a midfield player on the women’s soccer team. Coach Phil Wheddon has suspended the Monson, Mass., native from the team in light of the allegations. As a leftist lesbian professor, I despised Christians. Then I somehow became one. The word Jesus stuck in my throat like an elephant tusk; no matter how hard I choked, I couldn't hack it out. Those who professed the name commanded my pity and wrath. As a university professor, I tired of students who seemed to believe that "knowing Jesus" meant knowing little else. Syracuse police say they are investigating an allegation that Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine molested a team ball boy for more than a dozen years beginning in the mid-1980s.
