The crash occurred just a few miles from the latest victim's home and ten minutes after the latest sexual assault was reported.

When a Muslim woman sought employment at a Tulsa, Okla. Abercrombie & Fitch store in 2008, she showed up to her interview wearing a headscarf associated with her faith. The potential employer notified Samantha Elauf that her appearance violated the store’s policy and chose not to hire her. As is the norm in today’s overly litigious culture, she pursued legal action against the company for perceived discrimination. While a federal judge ruled in favor of Elauf and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, that decision was recently overturned by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Indicating that the applicant never sought...

From Justin Sink of The Hill: *** "President Obama told a collection of big-city mayors Tuesday at the White House that he would continue to use executive actions to combat gun violence plaguing major cities. History is the practice of crafting stories around events so that they seem purposeful. Historians are professionals who defend their stories against other stories they do not like. Case in point is the destruction of Thomas Jefferson's character. Sure, Jefferson did a few things – Declaration of Independence, founded UVA, the Louisiana Purchase – but he was a slave owner and thought little of black people's potential. A responsible historian would tell Jefferson's story by noting that most wealthy Virginians owned slaves, and most people in general thought little of racial equality; Jefferson was a product of his era. Still,...

Tulsa’s largest United Methodist church is considering dropping its scouting program after the Boy Scouts of America decided to allow homosexual boys to participate. “We’re leaning in that direction. I don’t know exactly what we’ll do,” said the Rev. Tom Harrison, senior pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 S. Mingo Road. The Boy Scouts’ decision can be troubling for troop-sponsoring churches whose denominations oppose the practice of homosexuality. The United Methodist Church, a major supporter of Boy Scouts, has maintained that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching. “We find this to be a very troubling decision,”...

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A 17,000-member megachurch deep in Oklahoma's Bible Belt has been rattled by allegations that five employees waited two weeks to report the rape of a 13-year-old girl in a campus stairwell, allegedly by a church worker. Tulsa police say the girl is among at least three victims of alleged sex crimes by two former employees of Victory Christian Center who face criminal charges. A child crimes investigator says more victims could surface as police continue to investigate. Authorities, however, fear some parishioners in the large, tight-knit south Tulsa congregation may choose to pray about the allegations...

Paul Ryan, is the poster girl for Generation X women who wanted to have it all.Ryan, 43, like many of her 40-something peers, is a stay-at-home mother with an impressive resume.
