Dollar Shave Club is capitalizing on Gillette’s woke stupidity

As Twitchy told you earlier, Gillette recently waded into virtue-signaling waters with their “The Best Men Can Be Campaign”:

Gillette ✔ @Gillette "Boys will be boys"? Isn’t it time we stopped excusing bad behavior? Re-think and take action by joining us at http://TheBestMenCanBe.org . #TheBestMenCanBe 3,982 5:45 PM - Jan 11, 2019 Twitter Ads info and privacy 2,402 people are talking about this

Because nothing attracts men to your product more than shaming masculinity.

Needless to say, Gillette’s finding themselves bleeding customers, so to speak. And Dollar Shave Club is only too happy to make the most of it:

Dollar Shave Club ✔ @DollarShaveClub Welcome to the Club.

Well played, guys.

I use an electric shaver but when I did use razors I used what I felt did the best job. I liked Schik and Gillette. Couldn’t care less about their advertising.

“More likely, you didn’t look for where the parts were made. Look for China on the labels.
My wife bought them for me when I was blind with cataracts.

Now that I can see again, I just may go shopping.”

Try Harry’s razors - I think they are great and have used them for five +/- years now.

They wanted a better razor so they bought a company in Germany that makes razor blade material...Harry’s is 100% USA with blades imported from their manufacturing facility in Germany...it’s NOT Chinese!

Been boycotting Gillette for several years, their product is just too damn expensive.

I use a Merkur safety razor and buy bulk quantities of blades. My cost per shave is about $0.05.

Can’t say it enough.

Corporate America’s #1 problem is that it’s Marketing Departments have been absolutely overrun by Millenial female social media addicts who obtained their degrees from the finest Liberal brainwashing universities.

They have swallowed the Kool-Aid that virtue signaling is good for business. They see five negative tweets and immediately run into the CEO’s office screaming that The Sky is Falling and you have to DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

CEO’s, being largely detached from marketing, nod in agreement. And the Lib Chicks take the entire organization down a dead-end path.

Corporate America’s #2 problem is that HR is staffed by the same types of people.

I’ve been using Harry’s for a year or so and find it first rate. Very easy to deal with.

The best part is they give you a heads up a few weeks before shipping so you can delay shipment for a few weeks or a month or two if you have too many blades.

I've been using Norelco electric razors since about 1980. Still using them, but my last two units absolutely suck.

I have a Norelco and a Remington, and do not like either. It takes me longer to go over the same areas over and over than if I just shave with a razor. I get more irritation with an electric, and they don't shave nearly as close as a razor blade (for me, anyway).

I use one of the Gilette multiblade cartridges with a pivoting handle. Not sure what I will buy in the future.

Gillette thinks their razors are only for shaving backs.

...with the current price of the multi-blade cartridges , the cost of a good plain Davo pays for it’s self in a few months.

Guys have to remember the original safety razors by King Gillette gave the holder away for free because the prime business was the continued sale of blades...until one died and and even after for the final shave by the mortician, who likely used a Gillette safety razor.

Just like JCPenny found out and Sears and Nordstrom - they play to the 0.001 percent of the population and lose every time.

No. The commercial was creepy and awful.

Their razors are way too expensive.

I'll stick with Bic and Schick.

I’ve been using the same multi-blade cartridge for weeks. There’s no need to throw one away after just a few uses.

When you’re shaving and the blades start to pull, run the face of the cartridge down your arm in the opposite direction you would use it to shave. Do this ten times. It is like stropping a straight razor. The cartridge blades will be refurbished and sharp again. This can be repeated over and over, each time the razor gets dull, saving you a ton of money on cartridges.

I’m with you on that. I had one blade (four blades) last me two years a while back. I have a “fine” beard. In fact, I actually replaced one of my blades after several weeks with a new blade and I could tell no difference.

I have six four-packs of blades now from Dollar Shave club. I cancelled delivery. I’m 65. I think I have enough blades to last me the rest of my life.

I use Dorco, economical and quality product, never been nicked.

I think I'll try that. I use the Gillette with multiple blades and a trimmer blade with a vibrating handle. Looks like Dorco makes one like that.

Norelco’s patents on the three-head floating system expired around a decade ago. I think since that happened they are just mailing it in.

Dollar Shave Club and Harry’s are better than Gillette. Another P&G screw up...but I like Schick razor better. I have a Remington electric shaver I use mostly.

That's the problem I now have with my Norelcos, which I never had in times past. Of course, they could never shave me as close as a blade, but they did a mighty fine job.

Something with the quality has changed.
