How to get rid of visceral fat: Following this eating pattern could reduce the belly fat

HOW TO get rid of visceral fat: This type of body fat is deemed harmful because of where it’s stored in the body - the abdominal cavity - so what can you do to reduce it? Making changes to diet has been shown to help, and following a particular eating pattern has proven effective.

Visceral fat’s location within the abdominal cavity means it surrounds vital organs such as the liver, stomach and intestines. If visceral fat is left to build up here, a person’s risk of developing serious health problems, like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, is increased. Related articles

Eating a poor diet has been linked to visceral fat build up, so making changes to the food you eat is advised.

When it comes to an overall diet to follow, a particular eating pattern has been shown to help get rid of visceral fat - intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern that involves cycling between periods of eating and fasting.

(snip)

One low-carb diet which has proven particularly effective at getting rid of visceral fat is the ketogenic diet.

Ketogenic diets drastically reduce carb intake and replace it with fat, putting the body in a natural metabolic state called ketosis.

A disproven theory as the human body is dynamic and has contributing factors such as metabolic rate.

Yep. Ancel Keys, Willet and the Seven Day Adventist promoted CICO. Some day I hope we can bury that insanity.

Atkins death had nothing to do with the diet he popularized.

But your distress is probably caused by inflammation from consuming too many carbs.

But be fair, if you get carbs from non-processed foods, that probably would work, but it’s not easy to avoid processed carbs.

I probably could have extended out to another 8 hours. Going through the 24 hours was probably the hardest. But my work load is quite exhausting the last month or so, so once I hit 40, I indulged in broth. I will try again next week (or the next week, traveling for work next week).

We have been keto faithfully for 8 months now, and I am loving it more and more. My food budget is way down. And I never think about running for fast food.

In fact, we are finding it almost impossible to consume restaurant/fast food.

I’d like to try to stick with the counts he gave me to work with and be able to reduce some of the meds I’m on. I’ve had diabetes for 20 years and don’t want to be on the downward spiral of medication anymore.

At the end of July our family was on vacation in Colorado. I went into cardiac arrest - my heart just stopped. My DIL had recently had CPR training and together, with our son, started CPR on me. I’m so grateful to be alive and given this second chance at life, I’m trying to get myself as healthy as I can going forward.

Weigh yourself at night before bed. Record the amount. Weigh your self in the morning record the amount. Eat less then the differance and you will lose weight. The key is to do the night time and morning weigh in you can adjust your diet daily and keep the weight down. Some days you might wanna fast.

Well, since you are on the internet, I know you can use a search engine. But, if you want, I can start throwing studies at you.

Here is one: Weight Loss with a Low-Carbohydrate, Mediterranean, or Low-Fat Diet"

The low-fat, restricted-calorie diet was based on American Heart Association20 guidelines. We aimed at an energy intake of 1500 kcal per day for women and 1800 kcal per day for men.

The moderate-fat, restricted-calorie, Mediterranean diet was rich in vegetables and low in red meat, with poultry and fish replacing beef and lamb. We restricted energy intake to 1500 kcal per day for women and 1800 kcal per day for men...

The low-carbohydrate, non–restricted-calorie diet aimed to provide 20 g of carbohydrates per day for the 2-month induction phase and immediately after religious holidays, with a gradual increase to a maximum of 120 g per day to maintain the weight loss. The intakes of total calories, protein, and fat were not limited.

Results:

The mean weight loss was 2.9 kg for the low-fat group,

4.4 kg for the Mediterranean-diet group,

and 4.7 kg for the low-carbohydrate group (P<0.001 for the interaction between diet group and time);

among the 272 participants who completed the intervention, the mean weight losses were:

3.3 kg,

4.6 kg,

and 5.5 kg, respectively.

No, I can’t get too anal about it. I cant give up carbs and i am not going to drive myself nuts counting and keeping track of stuff. The general rule is i try not to eat carbs all by themselves.

You're absolutely correct of course Bob, and thank you.

This post titled PSA: A Writers Perspective on the Anti-Keto Phenomenon is an eye opening whistleblower account from within the industry. If you dig into the responses you'll see diet, environment, health, and politics are all just different facets of the same narrative being pushed by the cabal working to enslave us all.

There are about 1.6 MILLION people on the https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/ forum that say from their individual experience that Mayo Clinic is wrong.

That’s a lot of anecdotal evidence that says their science is bogus. In fact the Mayo clinic recommendations have led to a ~40% world wide obesity epidemic.

“Exercise”

Exercise is great, but short of training for marathons or something similar, exercise alone won’t result in weight loss. Where I live in Texas, in the middle of last summer, in the middle of the day, I saw a 300+ pound gardener unloading equipment from his trailer. During that 98 degree, humid, day that guy burns more calories exercising than most people do in a month...but where is it getting him? If I had to guess, he probably eats a standard carb-loaded Hispanic diet, and a lot of it, after working that hard...and he’s paying the price for it.

While there is, ultimately, a weight-loss benefit to exercise, providing you do keep the carbs down, it does come at a price. For example, you need to walk 35 miles (roughly 10 hours) to lose one pound (3500 calories). On the other hand, if a person skips one day of eating (and doesn’t ‘make up’ for it the next day), his net energy burn is 2300 calories (2/3’s of pound), roughly the equivalent of walking 23 miles. But when you get into that level of exercise, which is far more than needed to stay healthy, you’re putting a lot of wear on your joints and may very well pay the price for that.

“I did my first 40 hour fast this week.”

...and you’re still alive to talk about it!!!

I got into long-term fasting in my 20s (i.e., decades ago) because it was the only way that I could lose weight. I ate the standard 3 meals, started to balloon, my sister look at me on the beach, and at that moment I figured it was time to get to work. First, no more breakfast, than no more lunch too, then came the plunge, skipping a full day of eating (i.e., roughly a 36 hour fast). Like you, and to the astonishment of the medical/nutritional community, I also woke up the next day!
