Peter Wang, 15, was one of the students killed in Florida this past week. He was a Jrotc Cadet who was last seen, in uniform, holding doors open and thus allowing other students, teachers, and staff to flee to safety. Wang was killed in the process. His selfless and heroic actions have led to the survival of dozens in the area. Wang died a hero, and deserves to be treated as such, and deserves a full honors military burial.

Well, that was a straight simple answer where you shared your opinion without really having anything to say.

He may not qualify by book but his family deserves the honor and young seined to see this fine example of man. Yes, he was more of a man in his last moments than most 50 year old males

That is that what American Soldiers do, they stand between evil and the innocent? God bless them.

I would be surprised if the CIC Did not do something memorable for the young soldier. Did they not already make him an honorary West Point Cadet?

NO. I second that. His education institution falls under the state. It is more appropriate to be honored by the state militia (National Guard) as his heroics matches Title 32 authority, not Title 10.
And by God, the sovereignty and focus needs to swing back to the states, and we need to stop running to the federal government to right the hurt dealt to us. Even symbolic.

Oh, we just continue watering down the traditions that made our country great and our military respected?
Just to give a sugar high?

While this brave young man did an incredible thing, he doesn’t rate a military funeral. He was a JROTC Cadet not a member of the armed forces, or a veteran. His JROTC unit can give him the honors. Some here will call me cold hearted for my stance, but it is what it is.

He was a JROTC cadet that was posthumously accepted to West Point, based upon his actions in uniform.

Nice sentiment but no. He was not military.
Reality is reality. Maybe if the military wants to do something at his normal funeral, I am fine with that.

So was this just an excuse to do what you really wanted to do, post a negative comment about a certain age demographic?
Who the absolute fuch are you to judge most of the 50 year old males in this country and declare them as such?

Getting a military funeral is NOT a participation trophy. He was not military. He should receive local honors as he deserves, but NOT military honors.

I believe his actions to be a direct result of his training. His decision to place himself between evil and innocents is in the finest traditions of the American Military. I SEE NO WATERING DOWN OF THOSE TRADITIONS IN THIS HONOR.

Military honor guard for his civilian funeral would be quite acceptable to this former Captain.
