What is the justification for not canceling their clearance? These traitors get to continue to rummage thru govt files and can keep ahead of investigations and stay involved with current govt employees. No wonder they think they still own the govt. They pretty much seem to have the
run of all the security branches of govt. What else do we not know is going on that makes them so confident of not being held accountable for their attempts to overthrow the Trump presidency?

And the best way to make the standards high is revoke them all upon leaving employment with the government and make them reapply. Like I said, if theyve followed the rules it should be quite easy and fast to get them reinstated if they are hired by a private company and need one..... but this letting them all keep them for 2 -5 years is BS.

President Trump is considering pulling the Security Clearances from several highly political talking heads who are out to get the President. John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper, Susan Rice and Michael Hayden were specifically mentioned by Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
"Considering"? Brennan, Comey and Rice, at least, are no longer employed by any federal government branch requiring security clearances - why haven't they already been revoked?

I heard it described as the president going after his critics on the radio. They're making it sound like Trump's revenge rather than these jerks are committing crimes or are a security threat.

If someone quits law enforcement, they turn in their badge. They may get it back later, but they don’t have it while they are not employed or retired. Why should this be any different?

Trump floating a trial balloon “considering” removing security clearances from people who clearly have no business with them, and a myriad of reasons why they shouldn’t, makes him look weak and not entirely in charge. We should be reading about this in the past tense.

No, the best way to make standards high is to bother to have them in the first place and maintain them, instead of setting yourself up for regret by being sloppy.
The world runs on money and time - whatever saves either is a relative win. We’re never going to change that, or our need to balance idealism against them.
I’m not someone who wants anything worldly to be ‘absolute’, or ‘perfect’. I want what WORKS; and even though I want everything to work according to certain values and ideals, I know that even though you try to fulfill those by implementing regulations that purport to guarantee them, there is always, still, a degree of risk.
And make no mistake: no matter whether you develop the most open/liberal or dictatorial/restricted - system, you will still suffer risks; and there will be times when they get the best of you.
People want fast, simple solutions to everything. There aren’t many of those for the complex problems that our development has caused us to face today.
The fact that he seems to understand this is one of the reasons why I’m very grateful that we have the President that we currently have.

What else do we not know is going on... That's the question. Stuff no logical person would even think to ask about.

"I also recall a TS Cosmic but may be confusing it with the TS Crypto." No idea. that was 10 years before my time, and they change things... One of the (Army) MOSs that I held back in ~ '77 is now a Military Police designation, but back then was a (rather uncommon) Communications MOS.

I believe none of these individuals still works for the US Gov. Why do they still have security clearances? Remove their clearances at once!

Oh, and one time when I was recovering from an injury, they didn’t want me sitting around doing nothing, and they put me in charge of the post MARS station, which requires no clearance at all.
When I was finally deemed well enough to go back to the Rangers, the CO was furious that he had to put through the paperwork to get my TS-C back. after I was TDYed for just a couple months.

Look at who was doing the hiring at cia back then and you will find the answer.

[I agree. Im shocked they still have clearances!]
I’m shocked *anyone* still has clearance after they leave office. Doesn’t compartmentalization aka “need to know” mean anything any more? How do our agents-in-place in hostile lands feel about the fact that someone long departed from government jobs can look them up just like that and accidentally (or not) blurt out their names in casual conversation?
