Todays Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Note to CBS: When you have to publicly declare that your network isnt broken, your network is broken. CBS entertainment division head Kelly Kahl led a press event on Sunday and, doing his best Baghadad Bob impression in the wake of the networks latest major sex abuse scandal, declared theres nothing to see here, all is well. No one believed him.
Yes, Councilman, the people of Santa Barbara do lack common sense. They elected you, after all. Over at Powerline, Steven Heyward has a hilarious quick read about a member of the Santa Barbara city council (thus obviously a Democrat) who got caught with his rhetorical pants down a couple of weeks ago. Go read it youll be glad you did.
If Chicago had a Republican mayor, CNN would move its entire operation there and report on nothing but all the killing going on. As it is, with Democrat thug Rahm Emanuel firmly ensconced in the Mayors office, and the brain-dead voters of Chicago too dimwitted to vote him out, CNN can barely be bothered to even notice the fact that no fewer than 63 shootings took place in the Windy City over this past weekend. Thus far, at least 10 of the victims are dead. And nobody literally nobody in our fake national news media cares. Doesnt fit the approved narrative, after all.
As if to emphasize the utter cluelessness and ineffectiveness of the citys leadership, Superintendent Eddie Johnson attempted to deflect all the blame onto inanimate objects, because of course he did:
I think some of our more challenging, communities, its just imperative that police and the community work together to reduce this gun violence. We just have too many guns on the streets of Chicago.
Mind you, Chicago like the other Democrat-led, extreme high crime cities in our country has some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation. The standard answer for any Democrat politician when faced with the abject failure of the policies he or she has favored is of course to simply double-down on more failure. So, dont look at the gangs behind the curtain who commit all the violence, or the Democrat welfare state-created culture of broken families and dependency that made the gangs possible in the first place, look at this shiny object over here that you cant even legally purchase in this city. Thats the problem.
Dont kid yourselves otherwise: These politicians dont really want to solve the problem, because so many of them are in fact on the take from the gangs committing almost all the killings. Chicago today is little different from the Chicago of the Prohibition era, with crime gangs having been allowed by ineffective policing to become an ingrained part of the local culture and ultimately owning so much of City Hall that they effectively become a major part of the citys government.
The Chicago swamp is no different than the Swamp in Washington, DC: You have this embeded, incestuous culture of corruption that ensnares almost everyone that comes into contact with it and becomes a self-sustaining entity.
As I type this piece, theres a Democrat state representative from Illinois named La Shawn Ford on my television, telling Fox News that Chicago is in a state of emergency, and urging President Trump to send in the National Guard to police some of the neighborhoods in the city. So at least one Democrat politician in Chicago actually gives a damn, which is nice to know.
But Mr. Ford is fighting a losing battle there, since Mayor Emanuel has declared his city to be a Trump-free zone, and will no doubt vehemently oppose accepting any help from the federal government that he cant control. Because for corrupt politicians, control is everything. Just like the corrupt Chicago politicians of the 1920s, you cant have the feds coming into your city and giving orders. You cant just accept federal help because that help would inevitably lead to scrutiny from investigators and auditors and hey, it was the auditors, not Elliott Ness and his Untouchables, who finally managed to put Al Capone in the federal pen.
As of today, August 8, there have been 1,700 shootings in the City of Chicago in 2018. 1,700 Americans wounded or killed, most by the gangs who have become a de facto part of the corrupt city government.
Yes, the citys in a state of emergency. Yes, the residents of these poverty-ridden neighborhoods where almost all of the shootings take place desperately need the help of the national government since their local government cares so little about them.
But it will be a cold day in hell before Chicagos elected leaders allow that to happen. Dont kid yourselves otherwise. With literally zero pressure from the national news media, they have no incentive at all to change.
Just another day in Democrats are destroying Chicago and nobody cares America.
That is all.

“Shot in the ass o-meter” is one of my favs.
It’s racist to say anything negative about Chicongo.
“Chicago truly is a swamp that needs to be drained.”...
They’re working on it albeit slowly, one shooting victim at a time. Problem is, there are too many innocent people getting in the line of fire.
Stating there are “too many guns on the street” is NOT the problem, there are too many savages on the streets. Give them time, sooner or later there will be fewer and fewer as the “off” one another.
What the liberals have done to policing in Chicagono cop is going to take
risks. Arrests way done , Hmmm.
Don’t know those neighborhoods specifically, but there’s a map showing these “problems” seem to cluster geographically.
“Back of the Yards” also seems to be a top contender.
I'm so glad I don't have to commute into the city for work anymore. The commuter train I used to take passed through Wrightwood and Auburn/Gresham which looked like bombed out/firebombed out warzones on their best days. I used to take pictures and post them here on FR when these kinds of threads came up so people could actually SEE what those neighborhoods looked like.
I’ll bet FAKE NEWS CNN is blasting Rahm on this and his sanctuary city.

You forgot Engelwood.
I grew up to age 13 in Auburn Gresham. When I left in 1953 it was all Swedish, German, English, Irish, Greeks, DP’s from post-war Europe, etc. Don’t ever remember any crimes much less murder. What could have possibly have happened?
“...requiring the police to fill out lengthy forms every time they so much as LOOK at a black thug funny .......”
Now, as I understand it, they are supposed to (heh, heh) fill out a form everytime they unholster their gun.
And Humboldt Park. I grew up just East of there in the Ukrainian Village....

YES, I DO understand that certain ethnic groups HAVE to live in the same ‘neighborhood’ due to society and the ‘prejudices’ of those already in the town but one may think that after 3 or 4 generations such places as ‘Korea Town, China Town, Ukranian Village, signs in cities in the language of the ‘predominant’ ethnicity living there that if one wanted to live in ‘China town’ at 30 or 40 years old may think of moving to China.
Why would one travel thousands of miles and try to transform the area they are traveling to into the place they just left.
We used to get a lot of PA and WV types in Northern VA who normally spent the week down here and went ‘home’ on weekends, and for the most part spending as little of the money they made here - here, sending it ‘home’ living (illegally) 5 or 6 to a 2 BR Apt (I am talking Whites here) and continually ‘bragging’ about what a $hithole NoVA was and what a heaven Central PA was.
We (probably mostly permanent ‘imports’) would ask if PA was so f’n great, why are you down here clogging up our highways?
I lived in a neighborhood in Northern VA (bought in 75 or so) and I was considered a ‘newbie’ to the long time residents and eventually turned into ‘WHAT moved next door?’
I used to like the highly diversified neighborhood and my wife would argue etc but MY POINT was if the neighborhood turned into all Muslim, Spanish, Black, or any other ‘group’, the value of the houses would drop, whereas a ‘mixed use group’ kept the prices on a par with the rest of the county or vicinity.
As I understand it, that's the new demand. I haven't seen that as being part of the binding agreement. I could be wrong, it's tough to keep up with all the Chicago Police bashing that goes on.

Is that part of Lisa Madigans CD? When I heard that on the news the other day all I could say was Oh boy....

I figure it this way: at some point if you're a cop and are stuck filling out endless amounts of paperwork for everything, you may as well just shoot all the gang banging thugs and be done with it. That's the only sure fire way (pun intended) for the paperwork to eventually STOP.
No more gang banging thugs = no more paperwork.
There is a certain logic to it, isn't there.
There is a certain logic to it, isn’t there.
The Brazilian Solution to violent crime. Brilliant.
That or something very much like it is coming. Wouldnt surprise me if the few decent folks in those neighborhoods started taking the trash out themselves.
And have you noticed how McCarthy cant seem to get himself arrested? He ripped Rahm a new one yesterday and the press barely said a word about it.
Oh well. Time to head to River North for work. Hopefully the goblins wont take their little war onto the Ike.
Have a good one.
