The NSA is making me want to throw away my cell phone today ~ Vanity Rantity

Posted on 10/11/2018 12:40:27 PM PDT by GraceG

So today so far have had at least 5 calls from "Robo Scammers". Benn expecting other and vastly more important calls from local people so every-time they call and they use the caller ID to spoof so it looks like a local call I answer and I get the "Rachel from Card Services". I have pressed the option to be "taken off their list"... never works, I have ignored the calls, but that never works either.... When I do press 1 to talk to some jackass they all have Indian accents. Probably running from an offshore call center. So you would think....

The NSA could use their fancy super expensive DATA center to like, say maybe, track down this INTERNATIONAL PHONE SCAMMING RING.....

NOPE!!!!

Gotta use that call center to spy on Law Abiding Americans....Granny Maybel's secret apple pie recipe might never be found out if the NSA isn't going to listen in on her so they can find out the secret ingredient is love...

I wish I could when I file my taxes say, "Hey I was going to send you the full 5,000 bucks I owe the Government, but I am only sending you 4,500 bucks, you can deduct $500 from the NSA budget so we are even stevens".

I am so close to throwing my phone away today...

It is supposed to be illegal to spoof phone numbers. US companies get around this by hiring call centers in India to make the calls for them.

Thank you, I needed to rant and wanted to do something constructive with it rather than scaring the neighbor’s cat by just cursing at my phone.

Yup, and the NSA blows billions and we the taxpayers get nothing for it. Laws are being broken and not enforced at all, while our own rights to privacy are being infringed... by the people who are supposed to be helping enforcing said laws...

These calls are more than likely coming from overseas, Hell I think I “Rachel from Card Services was to start recruiting on behalf of islam “ the NSA still wouldn’t do anything to stop them...

I have half a mind to apply for a job at the NSA just so i could chew out the NSA guy doing my job interview and get it on tape and post it online, it would be epic! Just gotta check to see if I am in a one party consent state for recording.... ironically they would probably arrest me if I did that because I would be recording a government agent.... funny how that crap works...

Pressing a key to remove your number from their call list only verifies that your number is active, and invites more calls. Best to not answer unknown numbers, and let them go to voice mail if they are actually pertinent.

NSA doesn’t do that.

Just like, I recall when the FBI was trying to unlock the cell phone of that california terrorist shooter, and suggested the NSA could probably get in there no problem and they could probably ask for an inter-agency exception based on national security, but I was being somewhat factitious (sp?).

It’s really not their job to save you from scammers and spammer. It would be a massive misappropriation of power, as sympathetic as I am to your issue.

I never answer a call from a number I don’t recognize. I block heavy repeat offenders. I still get several a day but I don’t waste any time by answering.

JUST EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO BITCH ABOUT as I was coming here.

Kill the mf’ers or give them the muzzy treatment of cutting off their tongues and fingers.

Don’t know how many times they have broken up my sleep.

This is phone rage muzzy phone jihad.

NSA — Get off your fat, lazy, overpaid asses and do something FOR us rather than TO us.

Try Youmail.com to filter and “learn” about the bad callers.

Nothing works...

I got 4 different spoofed calls at 11:00 AM Monday from the “IRS is coming to get you” crew.

Last time I talked t them, I asked them how many years in prison do you think you’ll get? Answer: “I don’t know”

Don’t worry. Most all the replacement phones are tied to Google. That’ll fix things! /s

I bought a couple 4G phones at large retailer with operations in most U.S. cities a few years ago - $8.92 each.

And I got some from an “electronics store”. They were marked down to $60. EXCEPT that I happened to be there on Black Friday (which I usually avoid like the plague - rare moment actually had a little money). $20. So I got three because I had already budgeted $60.

HUGE markdowns from their original prices.

Gee, what a coincidence. They all require that you sign up for Google to get the maximum use out of the phone.

How bow dat.

No, these calls are coming from overseas, they are supposed to be monitoring them, It’s their job, this is totally within their jurisdiction and they are spoofing caller ID, which is also illegal. A crime against US citizens is being committed by a organization outside of the country using international communication channels....

What organization is supposed to pursue this sorta thing then, if not the NSA then WHO?

No wonder China has been hacking us and stealing out tech... they know they can get away with it while the NSA is asleep.

Yeah, and if you do accidentally answer, try to get a person on the line and then instead of letting them make their sales pitch start asking them “Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour?”... go off on that tangent non-stop for 10 minutes and most will delete you from their list.

I am glad I posted this rant thread then, I know many other people are afflicted by these scumbag scammers. I have even tried prying out from the peopel on the other side where they are working from, they always hang up.

Honestly if President Trump asked the FCC and the NSA and whomever else has jurisdiction to enforce the laws the scammers are blatantly breaking I think he would get another 10% in the next election...

I should ask them what their religion is and insult it directly, but if I get a muzzie caller on the other side of the line I would worry about them suicide bombing my house.
