Every now and then I get a call from someone not known to me who was referred to me by a previous client, or who picked up my business card somewhere. So I do pick up most local-appearing calls on my cell. I just don't speak for the first few seconds and most of the machines hang up.
[ I LOVE the term Vanity Rantity!! GOOD ONE!! ]
I needed a vanity rant
I keep getting fundraising texts from RNC - they keep changing the number they come from so I can’t block them. Can’t find a way to unsubscribe - don’t even know how they got my number.
Are they going out of their way to tick me off?
What kind of phones do you have and who is your provider? Not that this should matter, but I’m curious. I’m on Verizon and have some kind of droid phone and I rarely if ever get these types of calls.
What else are the voices telling you to do?
Looking for volunteers to start premarking ballots for D candidates in November, in the back room of the union hall?
My wife got a couple of spam calls in one day saying there was a warrant for her arrest.
The accent of the caller was painful to listen to.
Most of it is related to pay and benefits..

I do have a singular inner voice that is my own internal voice of thought, it IS my consciousness.
I do not have any other voices in my head, nor have I ever had.
If you don’t have any voice in your own head (your own consciousness) in your head you are a crazy NPC.
If you have more than one voice that is not your own, You are a Crazy Schizo.
I know. We never answer those. Haven't heard a spammer voice in years.
I never answer my phone (cell or landline) unless I recognize the number. I would say 90% of my calls are spam. They never leave a callback voicemail.
I guarantee that if the government really wanted to, they could bust every single operation within the US in two weeks.
I actually got a call yesterday spoofing my own number.
I don’t answer my phone anymore. If it’s a real call they can leave a VM.
“I have half a mind to apply for a job at the NSA”
If you have never watched, listen to this guys story of what he did regarding Google fake ads and the Secret Service. The SS did force Google to take down that system, but weeks later he says they went right back to it after SS closed the case.

The first time I got a call from Rachel, I got a person on the line and told them that they better hope I never find out where they live.
The call centers are in the east, but they are all working for US based companies. It would be lovely if some freeper could compile and publish a list of names and phone numbers of the principals of these companies.
I am sure they would love to hear from a whole bunch of us, especially if their home numbers become available.
That’s happen to me before. Spooky spoofing but I was not amused. I hate the roboscammers.
If you have an Android phone at least, you can put it in Do not disturb mode, priority only. Only numbers in your contact list will ring, others will show up when they come in but won’t ring your phone. I don’t want to talk to anybody who isn’t on my contact list anyway. Have had to run this way over 2 weeks now, 5 calls just today. I average 3 to 6 on any given day.
