I would’ve aborted a fetus with Down syndome. Women need that right.

There is a new push in antiabortion circles to pass state laws aimed at barring women from terminating their pregnancies after the fetus has been determined to have Down syndrome. These laws are unconstitutional, unenforceable — and wrong.

This is a difficult subject to discuss because there are so many parents who have — and cherish — a child with Down syndrome. Many people with Down syndrome live happy and fulfilled lives. The new Gerber baby with Down syndrome is awfully cute.

I have had two children; I was old enough, when I became pregnant, that it made sense to do the testing for Down syndrome. Back then, it was amniocentesis, performed after 15 weeks; now, chorionic villus sampling can provide a conclusive determination as early as nine weeks. I can say without hesitation that, tragic as it would have felt and ghastly as a second-trimester abortion would have been, I would have terminated those pregnancies had the testing come back positive. I would have grieved the loss and moved on.

Any parent who would kill their own child is not fit to be a parent. Those are God’s children and you have no right to kill them.

I can see where you are coming from, I believe if you read his statement again he meant nothing discouraging, only simply stated he respected people who could be parents of children with DS and he also publicly admitted he does not think he could do it. He certainly deserves some credit and I think his comment has been misinterpreted. I am not trying to speak for him but only yield a different opinion. I actually had to read his comment more than one to make sure I understood it correctly. God Bless your family as well, they are all beautiful angels.

This is so sickening. She would have aborted her child and”moved on”? How do you ever move on after murdering your child?

And, if you died on the table your little one would go to heaven and you to hell!

Proof that the democrat party is the new National Socialist party of the world.

Charles Darwin mainly started this crap and the US had people like Goodell who foisted this crime upon this nation. A few Brits also, It really got going and during the early 1900s the skank woman from the US-I forget her name, created the model the Nazis followed.

A victim needs a villain, someone they can make look bad so that they can look good by comparison. Their rationale tells them their lack of success must be the fault of someone more successful than them. Even when they still earn more than the average person, there’s always someone that has more than them. I had a sociology teacher, an admitted socialist, that spent most of his time blaming white conservatives and rich people for all the world’s problems. Did he share any of his own money with the less successful? Of course not. When socialists get rich, they still horde their money like anyone else. They just claim they’re willing to have their taxes raised, while finding every loophole they can to avoid it.

Yup. You got it.

Although she denied it, she claimed there were three types of people and those she considered on the lowest class should not be allowed to procreate.

She also claimed that she was shocked by the Nazi method of her admired system of murder and founded/joined a social group against that. Yet she fully supported selective breeding and the prevention of those who were deemed not fit. The Nazis took this to a new level and administered it and she, along with her cohorts, are as guilty as any of them.

The B*&ch should have been shot along with the rest of them.

If he couldn’t do it, what would he do about it? That is the question. We do not have the right to kill our unborn, no matter what. Hopefully, he has no less-than-perfect grandchildren. Children do not come with guarantees. Some even turn out to be Democrats. He may have used a bad choice of words BUT I do not have an open mind about killing unborn babies, even if they are imperfect.

No my FRiend, it is my honor knowing that there are people like you out there who have a true appreciation and understanding of Humanity.

I am and will be humbled by your words and deeds.

I am as imperfect as a Human Being can be, but your perspective gives me hope that I can become a better person.

Take care and may God Bless you and yours.

I say this in the kindest way so please take it like that. If you read my post to him you will see that I felt exactly the same way he did, before I had my son. After his birth it is a very different story however neither of us were advocating killing our unborn child but merely conveying that he does not know he could handle a special needs child. I beg to differ with him. This is an instant where I truly have walked in another mans shoes for only one of his journeys. I sincerely hope this has shed some light on the discussion and in a much more favorable light. I too feel the same way you do about the topic of killing innocent babies.

As an “elderly primipara” I also had amniocentisis, but am probably a bit older than Ms. Marcus as we had to wait till the 20th week of pregnancy. We discussed with the counsellor before the testing that we would not even consider aborting a DS baby, but would want to know in advance so that we could prepare for the extra care that child would need. I’m not too sure how one aborts a DS baby and “moves on” as Ms. Marcus would have it.

Such a remarkable day today, honor and respect through God's eyes for each and every one of us. Your thoughtful words of appreciation are truly admired.

We are all imperfect, here to live our lessons and learn, for without imperfection we would not truly know God's mission for us. Yes, we are imperfect and all that I try and do everyday is love, learn, and ask for forgiveness every time I fail. I trust God and he has forgiven me time and time again and always will. The beauty in life is exercising God's will unto our fellow man as he would unto us. You truly made my day because you taught me that I have helped someone and that pleases me very much.

Live everyday more remarkable than the last. :)

I recoil at all this testing they do before a baby is born because if someone does it, that must mean they’d consider killing a less than perfect child. I’ll never forget when my child called hysterical because she was pregnant and the doctor told her a test came back that something was wrong with her baby. She wouldn’t consider aborting the child and then the child was born perfectly healthy. How many babies are killed because they were considered less than perfect but there was nothing wrong with them. We need to stop playing God.

I love my niece with Downs dearly. They are dear, dear people and the very thought that anyone would think they are to be extinguished is more than I can bear. What kind of people must they be?
