EVERYONE makes O-2 from O-1. It’s a paper drill. Look at Nidal Hassan. He made O-4 from O-2 despite being goo-goo-eyed nuts and having a greeting card calling himself a soldier of allah. In my Reserve squadron we had a guy passed-over for O-3 and thus tossed-out of the Regular Navy. Not a top performer.
He had served as an enlisted man before being admitted to USMA. That doesn’t explain how he got there in the first place but it may explain his quick promotion.
Let’s hope this Rapone clown isn’t following in the footsteps of Lee Harvey Oswald who harangued his fellow Marines with his communist beliefs when he was in the Corps.
Odds are, he’s identified for promotion now (it’s pretty much automatic if he isn’t flagged), but won’t actually get promoted for another 6 months.

The last time I checked, Communism is a direct threat to our Republic by many countries and the domestic enemies and always will be. This country is INSANE.
Time in Service is not the same as Time in Grade.
I was in a similar situation myself, and still had to get a wavier for my last promotion due to not having the required Time In Grade.
As a Vietnam vet, I too am horrified that USMA produced a commie graduate.
As noted, this ringknocker got advanced faster than usual to O-2. This entire situation reeks of several kinds of corruption.

He was commissioned in June of 16 and West Point cadets have priority over all over commissions so he is actually right on track as a normal promotion.
Mattis countermanded his cross dresser order almost immediately and finally after about a year, sent a new policy to the White House to bar those folks. I haven’t heard anything more on it at all. I wonder why Trump puts up with anyone who crosses him which so many do.
Everyone does not make 1LT or CPT, but the selection rates are very high. An officer not promoted to Major must resign, Majors and above can stay to retirement.
And he was thrown out of Ranger School as an EM because he was insubordinate to the Command Sergeant Major of the Ranger School. The next question is how does someone with that on their record get into West Point in the first place?
