The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday said the public should not eat romaine lettuce as a result of a multistate E. coli outbreak.

I might have eaten some romaine yesterday (purchased prepared salad from grocery store). I am here to tell the story....
I make a point of not eating anything healthy during the holidays so I am insulated from issues like this...
What is it about e-coli, other than quantity?
E-coli can be found in each and every human’s intestines all the time. The body knows how to deal with it... at least in small quantities.

Your body knows how to deal with YOUR e-coli, not the e-coli of the migrant that pooped in the picking field.
Also, before it gets to the intestines, it has a change to ravage the stomach...
Well if the FDA says so I guess I’ll have to throw what I just bought away.

I’ve had romaine-based salads three of the last four nights. Waiting for my heart to explode or my head to pop off. Not sure which is more likely.
The source of a 2013 outbreak of contaminated greens was purposely hidden from the public until after the greens were out of the distribution system. This was done to avoid discouraging people from eating ‘fresh vegetables’.
Once some time has passed, the specific sources of this contamination will also be revealed, even though they are known now.
This particular variant can permanently damage the kidneys.
I rinse my veggies in tap water, then bath them in acid, stomach acid, seems to work..,
so.....what company that specializes in growing and distributing Romaine lettuce decided to support Trump?
For the most part, the packaged salads are washed in a mildly chlorinated water, then rinsed as they are packaged and chilled. Contamination is more likely to occur in the organic market where pre or post harvest treatments classified as chemical is avoided.
Individual family farmers.
Maybe this is a trial run of poisoning the food supply.
They want to know how the public reacts.
I ate a salad and sandwich every day for lunch at work. Romaine lettuce was in all of them. I’m doomed
We eat Romaine almost every day....had some last night. From Trader Joes, whole, organic. I rinse in water with vinegar...sheesh.
