Not if you're diabetic. Then it's just a swan dive into the cesspool of sugar spikes and a day of testing and balancing. It doesn't need to be that way. If you're type 1 diabetic, they have a pump with continuous monitoring and adjustment. If you're type 2, then it's time to get restored into a non-diabetic state.

People are different. ..your breakfast would have me starving by 10am...I eat some raw nuts w/raisins/Choc chips @7am...then maybe egg or other protein about 10.30/11am...I try to be done with all eating by 6pm.

Well, there’s a little more to it than that.
Ooops, I’m late for my Dearborn trip.

I drink one cup of coffee and it has to be strong. Pew on coffee that is week. I do use cream in my coffee but very little so it gets the golden brown color. The mini moos Half and Half by Land o'Lakes is excellent.

I seem to recall reading somewhere, some place along time ago, that “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” came out of a study sponsored by Kellogg ?

I always eat breakfast, but not necessarily breakfast food. Sometimes I eat leftovers from a previous dinner, or even a salad. I skip lunch once in a while.

Agreed. Breakfast is for thin people who dont eat much in the evening, if they have hard physical jobs and need strength early in the day. No one else needs it. Everyone needs water (or tea or coffee or whatever) in the AM because we all awaken dehydrated.
Children do better in school in the mornings WITHOUT A STOMACH FULL OF SUGAR. Unless the kid has eggs or meat for breakfast, with no juice, no cereal, no pancakes, his breakfast is HURTING HIM academically. My kids dont eat breakfast. And I eat it at noon. Protein.
If you have a hockey scrimmage at 6 am, sure, drink a protein and carb shake at 5. Otherwise, skip breakfast, eat protein and fat at noon, and lightly at night, with some carbs added.

Long-term fast? Does not work for people who have physically-active jobs.
Good grief. So much pseudo-science advice out there.

Yes. It works very well. In fact, after the first two (or three) days, it is very important to get plenty of exercise. Google it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

So true. It’s finally being exposed on a LOT of fronts.

Has anyone mentioned portion control yet?
I eat whatever I want ..whenever I want.
Just keep the portions size under control.
But I am also fairly active.
Doughnuts..bacon ..beer..pasta..

No matter when meals are taken, the important thing is to
get the three major food groups: beef, cheese, and chocolate.

It’s nice to know I am not the only one who quit eating breakfast as a child. My stomach doesn’t “wake up” until about 9:30 or 10:00. I usually eat after I become hungry. I try not to eat after 8.

Back in my Drum Corps days (Spirit of Atlanta) we used to sell a bumper sticker with our logo and ‘Grits - Breakfast of Champions’.

I can still fit into the Nike’s I bought at the NEX when I arrived for Navy boot camp in Oct 1988 in Orlando.
They’re slick as heck now (the bottoms have become very flat/worn), but they still fit.
