Yes the base is important at least to some level of support.
How large varies I’d guess with the product. If they lose X percent but gain X plus some percentage then income/profit

I never cared for Chick-fil-A’s food but appreciated their family and business stance. Sad to find out that was an apparent lie. Seems like they really blew it, don’t gain anything with the pervert community and have now destroyed credibility with the rest of us.
I have not been in Target at all this year, only once the previous year. Same with Dicks and others.
I have never understood the logic of pissing off 30% of your customers to try and expand into a 2% market.
It’s been years since we have enjoyed KFC. They really mucked up their formula over the years. That said, it’s only been a handful of times we’ve gone to Chick-fil-A. It’s okay. A bit overpriced and nothing special.

My first wife and I visited Manhattan during the holidays about 25 years ago, and we found a pizza joint that was supposedly the original Improv there. Can’t remember the name, but the food was incredible. I just know it was within walking distance of Times Square, and the old Ambassador Hotel, where my father lived in the 50’s when he was a radio broadcaster and was an understudy at the Met. That was some funky parking. I lived in DC for fifteen years but never saw parking garages use car elevators to stow your ride.

We certainly cannot deny absolutely every retail outlet our consumer Dollars these days, but we can remain steadfast to some degree. I have not gone to Target since I put them in my sights, nor do I ever indulge Dicks in years already. I am never going there.
I am boycotting JC Penney for years now because it made cents to me, and the NFL can continue to take a hike.
Let them all fail. They decided to insert themselves into the Social discourse, now let them contend with the consequences.

There are MANY companies that changed policy under just the THREAT of boycott by the left.
