Scans of mummified Inuits from 16th-century Greenland revealed that the ancient hunters suffered from clogged-up arteries despite a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
Atherosclerosis the build-up of plaques of fat, cholesterol and calcium in one's arteries is a leading cause of death today in the world's wealthier countries. While often seen as a product of modern lifestyles, evidence of the condition has been found in human remains dating back as far as around 4,000 BC.
However, none of these examples enjoyed a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which has been suggested can help protect against plaque build-up.
Researchers turned to four incredibly well-preserved Inuits, who would have eaten a marine-based, omega 3-rich diet, to see if the fatty acid improved arterial health.
The findings suggest that diets rich in omega-3 may not guarantee against plaque buildup however, the researchers caution that it is unclear what other factors were at play.

Where the word “blubber” came from. No mystery.
Raw fat.
You gotta cook it first, or use it to fry your fish & polar bear meat.
That’s because they did not get any leafy greens.....from which vitamin K comes.
Vitamin K is needed to prevent the issue.
*ping*
I’m waiting for them to dig into some of those frozen graves of Inuit who died of smallpox. Flu virus from 1918 survived, so possibly smallpox.
High Cholesterol also is indicative of a fungal blood infection.
Soon there will be a first nations law suit for damages, for desecrating the remains.
The left will be all over this.
Nobody eats parbear, the meat is poisonous. Two bites of polar bear liver and you are dead.
I think the rest moved to The Villages.
Polar bear liver (also huskies’ liver) will OD you on Vitamin A. Rest of the bear and dog is relatively safe to eat. Admittedly it’s best cooked to avoid risk of trichonosis, which may be difficult in conditions that would drive you to eat bear or dog meat.
The flesh is fine, but probably nasty. The liver is loaded with vitamin A , and can kill you.
It’s the mercury in the meat. As a rite of passage a male innit lad will eat one bite of polar bear liver. Said to be the tastiest meat in the world. He then eats a Chelation concoction made from scraping the Algae from a Baleen whales teeth to detox. Without the chelation cure, or if he takes a second bite he will go mad or die.
Not sure how much mercury in the flesh. Not going to try and find out.
They don’t know what these people ate! Come on!

but this study says it was malnutrition and zinc deficiency, with high lead only at the end (lead from the canned foods they ate).
however, one often finds low vitamin A and low zinc levels in children with malnutrition: probably from malabsorbtion. (in malnutrition, the intestinal linings tend to flatten and don't absorb nutition well; which is why often people die despite refeeding: they get the food but it doesn't work.

Maybe they found a food diary?
:)
Sounds like absolute nonsense.
They had no vitamin K2 in their diet.
K2 comes from grass fed animals and fermented foods. There is virtually none in fish or animals not fed on grass.
The obviously spent to much time at the local CaveDonalds.
