This is just plain wrong. This man did nothing to deserve being shot and killed. Give them a fair trial and more justice than they gave the man they shot.

You are misinformed. The “jogger” was a burglar who was only jogging in the video because he had been running full speed for 5 minutes before the video begins trying to avoid multiple residents who were chasing him. Nobody jogs in jean shorts that go below the knees. The black guy lived miles away from this all white neighborhood. He was a criminal who attacked these guys because he knew he was cornered. There is video of him inside a house in the neighborhood that was under construction. The original DA declined to prosecute having seen the video months ago. The media is lying.

From what I’ve heard, he was in full retreat when shot.

According to the video, he ran about 20 feet, right at the person holding a firearm and then attempted to disarm that person. That behavior seemed extremely odd. If I were unarmed and out for an innocent jog and someone pulled up giving me commands and or telling me I was under citizens arrest, the last thing I wold do it run at them and try to disarm them.

I did my research before posting. I’ve read in multiple media stories that it is all white. I read the police report. I read the DA’s letter explaining why charges shouldn’t be filed. It is a complete LIE that the black guy was a JOGGER. He was a burglar who was not observed by neighbors in a house that was under construction. There is video of him in this house according to the Daily Beast.

No, I’m not blind. Perhaps you should watch the video again. Watch it multiple times the way the jury will be viewing it. Listen for gunshots. Where were the involved persons located at the time of each gunshot? What were they doing at the time of each gunshot?

Following is an extract from the linked article. Perhaps it will help explain what turned a VERBAL encounter into a PHYSICAL encounter:

The person who filmed it was apparently someone who was following him under the idea he was a thief. May have been in cahoots with the shotgun toters. Not known.

Runner runs to right of the truck. A gun shot goes off.

I did not see what you see in the video.

I see the runner runs on the right side of the truck, then at the guy with the shotgun.

The guy in the back of the truck does not have a shotgun.

The first shot goes off in front of the truck. It is screened by the truck, but it appears the runner is very close to the man with the shotgun.

Here is an image from the video, about the time of the first shot. The head and foot to the left of the truck are of the man with the shotgun.

I am not sure if you can see the runners foot by looking under the truck, but he is clearly in front of the truck.

From my perspective that's the actions of a desperate individual . Lemme ask ya, if someone pulled up and suspected you of committing a crime, and they had a shotgun, and were giving you commands to put your hands up and or that they were putting you under citizens arrest, would you run 20' or so right at them and attempt to disarm them?

ARBERY ran to the right of the truck and upon arriving at the front of the truck exercised a 90 degree turn to the left and INITIATED the physical encounter with the man in front of the truck. Arbery was NEITHER BLOCKED OR HINDERED. He could have simply continued running straight and not turned to initiate the physical confrontation.

Kinda why there are laws against brandishing a weapon. Lots of wierd things happen if a gun is pulled....right or wrong.
Need to let all facts be determined before passing judgement...so far a classic “what could go wrong” lesson.

According to the first DA who investigated:

"It appears Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, and Bryan William were following, in pursuit burglary suspect with solid firsthand probable cause, in their neighborhood, and asking telling him to stop. It appears their intent was to stop and hold this criminal suspect until law enforcement arrived. Under Georgia Law this is perfectly legal"

Obviously, the deceased doesn't get to tell his side of the story.

In an internal memo from the district attorney to the Glynn County police department, the district attorney suggests that Bryan was the one who recorded the now viral video.

“The video made by William Bryan clearly shows the shooting in realtime,” Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Barnhill wrote in the memo.

Crump, who represents Arbery’s father, on Thursday called for Bryan’s arrest in addition to the two men seen in the video.

According to the police report, Bryan is listed at an address just a few houses down from where Travis McMichael is listed, near where the shooting took place. Bryan could not be reached for comment.
