A small team of researchers at Purdue University has found the strongest evidence yet of the existence of abelian anyons. They have written a paper describing experiments they conducted designed to reveal the existence of the quasiparticles and have uploaded it to the arXiv preprint server while they await peer review.
Anyons are neither bosons nor fermions—in fact, they are not elementary particles at all. Instead, they are classified as quasiparticles that exist in two dimensions. They can be observed, theoretically speaking, when they appear as disturbances in two-dimensional sheets of materials. Theoretical physicists have suggested their existence since the late 1970s and they were officially named by Frank Wilczek in the early 1980s. Theory has also suggested that they braid, but in ways differently than bosons or fermions. If a fermion or a boson were dragged around another of its kind, theory suggests, the action would not produce a record of what had occurred. But because anyons alter wave functions, they would create such a record. The process involves inserting a phase into the wave function of the particles. In this new effort, the researchers created a device that allowed them to see evidence of such a record.
The device the team created involved moving anyons along a 2-D path; at a given point, the pathway split. One of the paths looped around another anyon which was situated in the center of the device. The other took a direct route before the two paths were reunited. The team then measured the electric current in the device looking for jumps. According to theory, such jumps would be present as anyons were added and then removed from the device, altering the phase. To be able to record such jumps, the device was built in layers of materials that filtered out random noise. The resulting measurements make the the strongest case to date for the existence of quasiparticles, and in so doing, have strongly bolstered theories that describe both their existence and their behavior. They have also likely brightened the hopes of some researchers who have been looking into the possibility of using anyons to create more robust quantum computers.

To be IN the Universe God has created, everything has to have where/when orientation, whether in two spatial dimensions or three or even four or five. And all of the variables of spatial orientation have to have temporal orientation,also. Oddly, Paul in one of his letters gave a clue to more than three variables of dimension space.

In Ephesians 3:18, Paul appears to note four variables of dimension space. Was he referring to a tesseract with :”the breath, abd length, and depth, and height”? Might the ‘depth’ be understood like a tesseract?
Of all the Apostles, Paul was the most educated. Being a Pharisee, and trained to become a rabbi, he had the equivalent of a college education in the Judaic religion of his day.
He was appointed by Christ to be the Apostle to the Gentile nations, primarily the Greeks and Romans, for a reason. The Greeks and Romans , and Ephesus was a Greek city, were big on ‘logic and reason’ in their daily lives, and so were having a few difficulties with accepting the tenets new Christian religion.
In this passage, he is explaining to them that faith is the key to the kingdom and that key is love itself.

I doubt that Paul was referring to any higher order of things in the universe, he was just trying to make things as simple as possible to a people who depended on facts and hard evidence for their acceptance of ‘ the evidence of things not seen.’................

The referenced passage is in context a teaching on the supernatural experience Paul was blessed to have. Breadth, length, and height are understood today to reference three variables of dimension space. So why did Paul include ‘depth’ in his recitation of the variables of dimension space? I do not know, but it appears to indicate he had received a more-variables experience than we are able to have in our three of space and one of time coordinate system. Jesus had an extra variable reality, as evidenced by entering a six-sided room without opening a locked door or window. John indicates that we who are born again will have such an extra-variable reality when Christ appears to gather us unto Himself (1 John 3:2).
