Egyptian archaeologists working in the Nile Delta have uncovered dozens of rare pre-dynastic tombs dating to the period before Egypt's Pharaonic kingdoms first emerged more than 5,000 years ago.
They also found tombs from the later Hyksos period (1650 to 1500 BC) when Western Asian migrants took over the country, putting an end to Egypt's Middle Kingdom.
The tombs include 68 from the Buto period, which began around 3300 BC, and five from the Naqada III period, which was just before the emergence of Egypt's first dynasty around 3100 BC, according to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities released on Tuesday.
They also include 37 tombs from the time of the Hyksos, who first began migrating across the Sinai into Egypt around 1800 BC. [sic]

Yes, the fact that always amazes me is the Cleopatra is closer to us in time than she was to the first pharaohs.
The length of Egypt’s history is hard to grasp for those of us more used to reading the histories of modern nations.
Also sobering is the accelerating pace of technology.
There is much controversy on FreeRepublic concerning the use of mRNA "vaccines". What is probably not controversial is that living cells can be harnessed to make virtually any protein. I don't see any way that this doesn't have enormous consequences for mankind; hopefully, positive consequences.
Note that the time span between the oldest and youngest tombs described in the article is about 1300 years. That's a pretty long time no matter who you are. It's likely that the technology changes during that 1300 years were pretty modest. Clothing, agriculture, weapons, transport, trade? Perhaps very little change in more than a millenium.
And nothing was recorded or no notation were made. All history was passed down word of mouth.
That would slow down progress.
I find it fascinating that Hero of Alexandria constructed a simple rotating steam powered device. Imagine where we would be today if the steam engine had been perfected two thousand years earlier than it was.
Just wanted to say that the ancient Egyptians were also descended from “Western Asian migrants” aka the Near East. The modern population has more sub-Saharan African genes.
