Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi called the incident 'a mistake, an unfortunate lack of recognition of a member of Congress.' She added that the police officer was not at fault.Whaaaaa? Nancy (never met a plastic surgeon she didn't like) Pelosi should have said:
...a mistake, an unfortunate lack of recognition by a member of Congress that she should not react with physical violence toward a police officer doing his job...that she is subject to the rules that are in place to ensure the safety of all....

I read some of the law and Breach of Piece is an English term. Felony says it has to be aggravated assult and I don't know if that's what her charge would be.

Yes, "breach of the peace" exactly describes what she did.

That's what I thought because yesterday they said they were going to arrest her when the session was over.

Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi called the incident "a mistake, an unfortunate lack of recognition of a member of Congress." She added that the police officer was not at fault.
"I would not make a big deal of this," said Pelosi, D-Calif.
Well they've excused the murderer as "no big deal" for years why not assult on an LEO..

I saw that too. Interesting that Fox interviewed other members of the house staff who said flat out McKinney has a habit of treating those "underneath" her badly, ESPECIALLY if they are white.

She comes from Atlanta where loud fat black women outnumber all other categories. Ms. Adam Clayton Powell or Ms. Sharpton. Same old same old. I have a recurring nightmare, as I have a dreamer used to say!

Is it a breach of the peace?Assault in general is usually considered a "breach of the peace". Now "assault on a peace officer" could/should, and would (in any sane society) automatically be considered "breach of the peace"...

It doesn't have to be felony breach of the peace. I read that as either/or.

You and I would be in cuffs in an instant. What gives? Is she above the law? She ain't white that's for sure.
To: mathurine
She has gotten a lot fatter lately. Hard to recognize her now that she has not only reshaped her hair, but her body in such magnificent ways. What's up with that? If you can somehow ignore her politics and personality (somewhere between Louis Farrakhan and Marie Antoinette) she wasn't all that bad looking a woman at one time. Now she looks like a blimp.

Depends on what they charge her with, Breach of the Peace is pretty much the same as disturbance of the peace.
Assault doesn't fall into that category, however assault is a felony crime (hopefully in DC) so she would be exempted until after the House breaks.
