I want Edwards to drop out, and that to motivate Gore to drop in. Edwards may be persuaded that he can use Ann's remarks to generate sympathy and momentum, thus putting his moribund campaign on some life support.
Once Gore is in, the Democrat contest will become bloody, messy and may result in a long winded convention fight, which helps the Republican enormously.

I never knew there were so many overly sensitive FReepers. Good grief, folks, lighten up! Maybe you that don't care for Coulter should invoke your constitutional right not to be offended, but please stop piling on. It doesn't become you or make you better than anyone.

When Newt resigned, did it make things better? And when Trent Lott quit the majority leader? And when Bob Livingston threw himself on the sword? And when Rumsfeld resigned?
You can add Tom DeLay to the list.
Getting rid of Spiro Agnew paved the way for getting rid of Nixon. Perhaps in Agnews case there may not have been any choice.
Meanwhile Ted Kennedy and other objectionable Democrats remain in office.

Ann is frustrated that conservatives continue to play by the Queen of what's-her-name rules of debate.
I understand that frustration. I just hate to think that we need to sink to "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." It's a roll in a pigsty and a spiraling path downward. It may be what's required to win, but I don't care for it.

Ann is a master of hyperbole. I love when she pokes the hornets nest.
Ann is to PC what Kryptonite is to Superman.
As for the MSM and Edwards' camp reactions...The lady doth protest too much, methinks. Edwards is a big-time girly-man and his camp's whining and proxy whining by the MSM only reinforce that image.
Conservatives never succeed when operating from a fear based paradigm. Winning for us is simple. Tell it like it is, and don't make deals with the Devil.
To: MadIvan
Coulter's remarks will
NOT revive the moribund Edwards campaign.
At least not in the US. Is Edwards running for something in the UK?

I didn't hear the Breck Girl apologize for all his Democrat friends calling President Bush a hitler. I would have preferred she just call him something else like the hypocritical traitor he is but oh well.

Agreed that Ann's target was actually liberal's tendancy to committ to rehab for any and every "transgression." Edwards was the throwaway line.
Too bad it will bury the real stories coming from CPAC, however. I suggest she apologize and clarify the real point, quickly.

Sometimes 'faggot' is used synonymously with 'girly man'. Maybe that's what Ann was joking about.

I agree with you! It makes Edwards seem like he can't take it. Hillery will eat him alive. He does not seem like a real mans man. I am sorry but give me Chuck Norris any day. Or at least a hunky fireman!

Marcotte's/McEwan: These were Edwards Bloggers:"We likes da faggots " Melissa McEwan: April 19, 2005: "Da New Pope (as Ezra would say) doesnt like da faggots. As anyone whos spent more than five seconds hanging around this joint knows, here at Shakespeares Sister, we likes da faggots, and so we dont likes da new pope... "This gay-hating bigot was just made head of the largest network of institutionalized homophobia in the universe... "I reject this pope, I reject his church, and I reject its teachings."

If Ann is in the same category, then why isn't the MSM jumping all over them? Maybe we need about 10 more Ann Coulters to get the other side to shut up already. AFAIC, Republicans don't know how to play hardball and don't deserve to be in the political arena.Because the dinomedia IS the other side. And, they love it when "conservatives" come and roll in the dirt with them. "See! They're just as nasty as we said they are!"
In true "plank in the eye fashion", they don't see their own ugliness.
And, just for the record, I'm not a "turn the other cheek" kinda person. I'm cranky and angry and I despise the rhetoric and actions of "angry, vacuous hate-mongers". Sadly, Ann has joined them.

It IS revealing! Ann says the word "faggot" and the homosympatico crowd goes into meltdown!
Rudy is their man:)
They were over here last night saying we were bigots for thinking Rudy shouldn't have been marching with NAMBA.
