I can’t see how she can possibly wait until November when it’s almost time to vote in New Hampshire. August sounds doable. I expect her point will be that campaigns have become too long and she was cherishing the time with her family.

The job now is to get a Republican into the WH, even if we don't get everything we want. At that point we need to pressure the R president to appoint Sarah to an important cabinet position.

This is the most cogent post on this thread. Sarah needs seasoning. The Republican candidate who will topple Obama has yet to identify HIMself (Michelle will not/cannot defeat Obama). There is a dark horse out there who will come to the front and galvanize the Republican and independent voters into beating Obama. Thus far, none of the announced candidates have shown the ability to do that.

And a good portion of this forum says Amen and Amen. This makes that much easier for obama to get a second term.

EVERYBODY else is standing around waiting for her to make her move.

Nobody is waiting on her but her fans.

She's not the front-runner when her name is included in the polls, she's an also-ran.

“Then we had better convince Christie he needs to go for the good of the country.”

Exactly what this country needs: amnesty, gun control and judges with radical Muslim ties./S

True unless the vote for the GOP is no different other than window dressing than a vote for Obama.

I think she’s GOT money and lots of it, and there will be much, much more for her. THAT is why I think she will go. When I used to see those screaming crowds for her in 08, I KNEW that she could transform those cheers into dollars any time she put her mind to it. And I spect she’s been quietly piling up the cash all along.

This is the phase of the campaign when the potential candidates do little but dial for dollars. The amounts they raise are not known until later, but THIS, much more than name recognition, or whether the msm likes them, is the critical time in when a candidate goes-nogoes. Huckabee? No money. Newt, apparently no money. Mitt? LDS and establishment money. Sarah? Potentially unlimited tea party money if she plays her cards right.

There was a time when I would have argued agaist your point of view. Now I read it and nod my head in agreement. It’s time for the right candidate to rise and fight, not just some douche that’s ‘a little better than 0bama.’ Lesser of two evils is still evil and won’t work for this country at this point in time.

Rock-solid conservatism with a Republican house and senate to back it up. That’s the way to roll.

Screw the polls. Watch the way people act, watch what they say and do.

And quit being a pothole.

A vote for anyone but the Republican nominee is a vote for Obama.

I respectfully disagree. 'Big Tent' politics have taken the Republican Party nowhere. The left may have their squabbles, but in the end they always put up a monolithic front.

I simply cannot hold my nose anymore. If the Republicans don't front somebody with qualifications that I respect, then no vote from me.

Perhaps further polarization is needed to wake up America.

Christie would be an excellent candidate, even though I believe that he is more liberal. It is my personal belief that issue purity must take a second seat to ability to fight at this time in history.

Sarah is by no means perfect. I do not believe she was stained by McCain, however. I believe Sarah would make a viable candidate, because she has the stones to fight out in the open.

My personal preference, if I could just nominate someone myself, would be Col. Alan West.

I like Cain thus far, however I need to see him stand and fight, in no uncertian terms, fight! This is a war that we must win. Pacifists, negotiators, go along get alongers, sissies, and other usual GOP suspects need not apply!

I like mixed metaphors. The one you wrote is exceptional.

I don't put any faith in the opinions of a writer for a left-wing British newspaper. No one knows what Sarah Palin will do but many conservatives hope she'll run in 2012. In my opinion, Palin is the only conservative in the bunch. Most are either RINOs or, like former 'potential GOP presidential candidate' Donald Trump, oddities with no chance of winning. As many FReepers have pointed out before, the left hates and fears Sarah Palin - and that tells me a lot. She has much going for her, including charisma, which none of the current 'front-runners' seem to possess. I believe that Palin could raise huge amounts of money quickly, should she declare her candidacy. The media myth that only a small band of hard-core conservatives want Sarah Palin as the 2012 Republican presidential candidate is absurd. She sells millions of books and easily fills large venues when she makes an appearance. I believe the American public is scared and angry at what the 'historic' president has done to the U.S. economy and how he has negatively affected the lives and futures of millions of Americans.

Sarah Palin is 'authentic' and can energize people. I believe that voters are desperate for an honest and positive president, not another dull, dreary RINO or the now-discredited Obama. Yes, Palin has been endlessly smeared by the leftmedia and will continue to be smeared, even by trolls on FR. She can surmount that and take her case to the people, doing end-runs around the leftist media out to destroy her. If she declines to run, her political influence will evaporate. Whether she cares about that is not mine to know but as a lifelong fighter and staunch patriot, I cannot imagine Sarah Palin slinking away from the opportunity to get rid of the worst president in modern history. Telling Palin to wait until 2016 or 2020 is another way of pretending that some RINO can beat Obama and the country can just bounce back from where he has brought it. That is unrealistic. If Sarah Palin wants to run for president, this is her time. I hope she does and if so, I'm confident that she'll win.

The responses I’ve received from the “purists” are disturbing. It’s why we are always a bridesmaid and never a bride. Sure Christie has some ideas that don’t comport completely with Conservative orthodoxy, so what! There should be enough Republicans in the Congress after the next election to moderate the views he has that are somewhat astray. If we do not off the public employee unions, it’s going to be over for the US. Christie hasn’t done much on “gun control” and some of the other areas of concern in his job as Governor of NJ, because the union busting and budget needs are transcendent. The same would be true if he were president.

If she doesn’t run this time around the dems will excoriate her for being gutless and a quitter and the echo chamber will consist of all sorts of snarky comments about how she can’t handle the responsibility.

She’ll keep her powder dry for now and test the waters with a few internal polls and then jump in when the time’s right.

She can run ad after ad of pro-hillary democrats saying how much we need a woman president and then contrast how much better she is than 0bama. The right campaign will get her a convincing victory. No need for recounts. 0bama concedes and he moves back to Chicag-hole with his kids and his wookie.
