If worldly means “listens to alternative music and such”.

Never heard of them; the majority of the music I listen to was made before 1970.

When I was a kid there were these 2 guys next door. My dad said they were brothers. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized that one was Puerto Rican and the other wasn’t.

Your Dad’s a funny guy!

“It wasn’t until I was older that I realized that one was Puerto Rican and the other wasn’t.”

Maybe one was adopted? :)

I’ve no doubt but that there are more gays in cities, but I’d be curious as to by what process you believe cities make men gay.

Folks in rural ‘flyover’ country probably can’t believe it’s as high as 5%, whereas people like me in urban coastal cities probably can’t believe that it is that low.

Based on my non-scientific, anecdotal poll of being in pulic (shopping mall, movie theater, bowling alley, etc.) this Christmas season, I would say 3% of men over 30 and about 15% of men under 30.

I don’t think your numbers are far off!

For whatever reason, sons in their teens and 20s in upper-middle-class families seem to be over 20% around here.

I would guess some combination of recruitment, grooming, alcohol and drugs, parties, government schools and other cultural brainwashing, peer and adult pressure (or rather suction), monkey see/monkey do. A teenager's experiences can significantly shape their sexual orientation for life. Once that concrete has set a do over is impossible.

it always seems to be the mother and son reference in acceptance anecdotes. The vast majority of fathers have the common sense to reject the “normal” propaganda.

This is a totally unscientific approach to answer the question posed and is more like a argument from random observations. It’s not worthy the paper it’s printed on. Given that it’s presented as somewhat of a scientific explanation, it becomes simply propaganda posing as science, a favorite ploy of the Radical Left.

You may be right, but I hope not. But then, most of the population is in the larger coastal cities.

Sickening.....

Homosexual men prefer cities because they can hide amongst large “communities” like the Castro in SF, and practice their “lifestyle” with a certain amount of anonymity, plus cities tend to be liberal politically. In small towns they stand out like sore, um, thumbs. As for causation, I’m not going there, but I don’t buy the whole mom/dad, recruitment thing. Too many homosexuals knew they were “different” from a very early age for external cultural or parenting factors to be important.
