No injuries-except the shooter.
In another matter last night, the next county south of here OK'd teacher CCW. Have to have a state license and some additional school training and it's completely voluntary, but the local news had the school board president on and SHE just acted like it was a common sense decision.
Maybe we're winning after all.
I said stopped initiation of the shooting. I agree the officer probably did either end or hinder the shooting, but after it was underway.

Yes, you were mistaken. It was just a goal. Like “making parents raise their children” and “end school shootings”. Solutions are complex and we’re just farting in the wind if we think that any of them that are useful will be implemented.

1.There’s absolutely no Constitutional authorization for such an expenditure.
2. Almost without exception the Feds f*** every single thing they touch.

You want the government to raise any child born to a single mother for at least two years, possibly for their entire childhood?
No thanks. A bit too "Brave New World"-ish for my taste.
The next hundred are already being planned. Most of those plans will never go anywhere.
But with a few encouraging words to the wrong people, one or two of those plans will be put into action. That's all it will take. And too many "authorities" will look the other way, allowing things to proceed.
When they catch these these people, in fact any people using guns during the commission of a crime, try them, convict them, and execute them in short order.
When we have a capital execution within months of these things taking place, that will put an end to much of it.
Something about that 1000 feet rule, bothers me.
Heck, people live tens of feet away from a school property line.
Are they then forbidden to own guns, or are they just guilty as soon as they step on foot outside their door with one?
What about people driving by, that may have guns in the trunk? Are they guilty?
I fear this spate of school shootings is going to turn the people who were basically indifferent or were pro 2A but didn’t have especially strong feelings about it.
The gun lobby has always beat back the gun grabbers, this time I’m genuinely concerned. And there have been enough hypocrites in the dem party to stop them from voting to ban guns outright, which they could have done when they had control of all three branches.
The Florida gun laws should scare the crap out of all of us.
If the single mother on welfare disappears, so will the "make babies for fun and profit"
Maybe add involuntary sterilization to the mix if you go out and get pregnant again after "we've" dealt with your first one.
It's all psychological.
People do things because they think they can and if the evidence shows they can, they will.
How many of us have slowed down after two 500 dollar plus speeding fines in one year ?

Cheap and effective, and can actually address the problem in the event of an event.
He promised action after the Florida shooting too. Once he stops and thinks about it he settles down.
That’s true that most plans will not go forward, but it only takes one.
Then our idiot politicians will step in, solve nothing and make everything much worse.
It’s really up to us to solve this problem.

In the United States today, about 4 out 10 children were born to unwed mothers. Let's say that's cut in half. You'd still have the State raising million of kids.

Wow. You want the government to have a lot more power than I do.
Possible List for the President to pursue regarding demanded NEW rules/laws/regs etc.
Make it illegal to carry a gun into school
no explosives allowed on school grounds
make murder illegal
make shooting at people illegal
don’t allow anyone under 18 to buy a gun
......

OK ... those are MY thoughts ... do YOU have any ?
He could send the TSA, the xray and scanner equipment and institute the same search criteria as entering a plane to enter a school. I bet they would get many volunteers to man the body scanners and pat/down or strip searches from within their ranks. But, I doubt the students or parents would go for it.
