How wierd that the left is ALL worked up about this.

I agree, but sometimes words get so corrupted or buried in fear-mongering that, as accurate as they are, they have to be replaced. I am 71 years old, and long before Chomsky, in the 1950’s we were taught at grade-school that what had caused World War II was Nationalism, and that the only hope we had of avoiding an even more destructive future war was to “mature” beyond being nationalists. If Germany and Japan had caused so much trouble by being excessive nationalists, then (somehow, magically) by refusing to be nationalists ourselves we could prevent future unruly nationalists from causing trouble. Our moral example would restrain them, or something.
My point is that it may not be possible to wipe the stink off “nationalism” that has been slathered on it all our lives. Maybe Trump will have another amazing success and manage to rehabilitate the concept. But, in the meantime, is there another word that covers the same territory that we could use instead? Nothing pops into my mind.
A nationalist is someone who is concerned for the state of the nation …So presuming Gnome Chumpsky thinks he himself is “concerned for the state of the nation”, does that make him a national socialist?
I think that sums it up.

So, Chumpski, when I deconstruct your message and reutilize it by examining it through the theoretical lens of conservatism, I understand what you are saying:
President Trump is GREAT, patriotic American who is making the world a better place. All patriots should go vote for the most conservative candidates they have available on their ballots.
I beg to differ, Hitler didn't give a crap about Germany... him and his band of Nazi thugs were all about grabbing power so they could enrich themselves by stealing land and wealth from defenseless people.

Patriotism. Judeo-Christian. Western civilization. But those terms have also been maligned. If you are going to let the left dictate the meaning of language, you’ve already lost half of the battle. Maybe it is better to wear the insults as a badge of honor.

He managed to do quite a bit of damage to America. That loathsome book of his, Peoples History of America, handed out in numerous high school and colleges probably has a lot to do with so many young adults and their blame America first mentality.
Once I see the word “Noam” I know that I don’t need to read any further. Though it does grate on me when people refer to this looter as an “intellectual”
