When at if there were kids around?

Then the kids would have learned the value of carrying.

Exactly.

They knew better than to stick around and get in trouble and get their guns confiscated.

Good on them.

Nonsense. Marysville has a higher crime rate than almost 70% of the cities in the State. Gangs and drugs are a huge problem.

A couple of years ago, I pulled into the local Pump-And-Munch to get a lottery ticket.

As I approached the entrance, I noticed a car, with 4 or 5 youths smoking what smelled like burning rope.

Instead of pulling and waving my carry piece because I believed that I was witnessing a misdemeanor, I walked into the store and alerted the manager.

He called 911 and all of the miscreants were cuffed and stuffed.

Had I done it differently, we wouldn’t having this conversation.

Well, maybe.

He may very well have believed his life was in mortal danger and thought that was the best/proper course of action, but when cops show up those lawful citizens that have been defending themselves can still appear to the cops as a criminal threat. He may not have seen the cops first, to then holster his weapon, before the cops saw him and decided to take him down as a potential threat.

“Mr Redd, our records show you aren’t married.”
“Never said I was.”
“Are you Mr John Redd, of Hawaii?”
“Yes. Honowuwu.”

I am not saying I think its right, I am merely saying what the legal situation is.

A lot of people no longer care what the legal situation is.

The "authorities" had best tread very carefully.

If citizens start defending themselves from petty criminals it might not be long until they go after the bigger fish. The real criminals like mayors and Narcs. Who knows how far it might lead? Maybe to the Capitol

LOL!

Then, it gets better. "The two citizens with the guns didn't stick around to talk to officers."

LOL! They'll most likely be talking to officers soon enough.

In the State of Washington, a private citizen can use deadly force to apprehend a felon. Stealing over $500 in property or trying to run over someone after attempting to stop them qualifies.

In fact, a private citizen in Washington has broader authority to use deadly force than do law enforcement agents.

Disagree - send the message that those who attempt armed robbery are fair game....the citizens showed restraint by going after tires instead of bodies...was smart of them to vacate the area before they had a chance to be treated worse than the bad guys...

re: “They engaged and were active participants against others who did not steal from them or were threatening their lives.”

(1) HOW do you think things worked before poh-leece?

Poh-leece, ya know, are a relatively “new” invention considering how long mankind has been around ...

(2)Perps like that represent a threat to the entire community, not just the shop they just ‘stole’ from.

re: “If there had been kids in the line of fire, the ccw holders would not have pulled the trigger.
Good people are like that.
Criminals don’t care.”

Absolutely.

Look at the example Nick Meli set.

https://www.oregonlive.com/clackamascounty/index.ssf/2013/05/clackamas_town_center_shooting_84.html

“On Dec. 12, Meli told police he had taken a position behind a pillar near Morgan Jewelers and saw Roberts running past the Charlotte Russe clothing store. He said he then drew his gun, aimed at Roberts, but didn’t fire because, “I did not want to miss and then him start shooting again.” He also said he was afraid of hitting bystanders in Charlotte Russe. Roberts rifle jammed at about the same time.”

"They were shooting at vehicles that were not trying to run anyone down."

What...even cars have constitutional rights now.??
