I don’t mind DHS bitting the dust, I thought it was a bad idea 20 years ago. But, I don’t want ICE or Border Patrol to go with it, not sure about TSA. Turn the parks and federal land over to the states. Kick California out of the union.
The pay cut would be staggering. My guess is that they’ll do anything to keep their jobs—including putting pressure on Chuck and Nancy to just give up the measly $6B to keep the gravy flowing.
Amazing. The President is asking Congress to spend $6B more—chump change in DC in the 21st Century—and they’re holding their breath over it!
He should close the Mexican border and send troops to support those working there.
Also should get the Corps of Engineers to start on the wall as a training exercise that will continue indefinitely.
Been waiting for this. The President has plenary power to declare a state of national emergency at the southern border and take any action he believes is necessary. Congress will be powerless.
As long as President Trump uses undesignated DOD funds, he’s in control. All congress has the power to do is appropriate funds. The President doesn’t need them.
The additional non designated money was already requested by Mattis at the President’s direction.
Politically, President Trump is doing this exactly right. “Look, I went to Congress. I met with the leaders on both sides. I have explained to them that Americans are in terrible danger from a wide open southern border (insert long litany of illegals who have raped/killed/assaulted/maimed/dismembered/mutilated/kidnapped/tortured, or found other ways to do horrific damage to innocents).
He’ll close the deal with all sane Americans.
Of course, the courts will try to interfere. Let them. Libs can paper their walls with copies of injunctions. Fine. During a time of national emergency, imbeciles with agendas must be ridiculed.

Maybe towards the end of last year...not sure...a FR member started a thread about the lifetime pass. I don’t recall their name now (but I did thank them later). The purpose of the thread was to alert everyone of an impending price increase for the pass. The price was going from $10 (plus $10 processing fee) up to $80 plus fee. I jumped on it before the price increase...bought one for both the wife and I. An incredible buy, it was. I’m not gonna feel cheated if the National Parks are closed temporarily...as long as The Wall gets built.

Be very careful when one of ours does something like this. Precedents are dang near forever in the current legal system.

Source food, water, and shelter six days walk for any major city.
Pay attention to those on the government dole around your area. Many rural areas have high pockets of “low income housing” that will go feral once the checks stop.
Make friends with your neighbors. Figure out what side (or sides) your neighborhood will be on. If you are to far from them, I suggest moving sooner than later. For some, this may mean leaving the country.
Get any needed medical supplies stashed. Get healthy.
Best case the impeachment trial becomes a nightly circus. I expect more paramilitary violence from the left and right into the summer.

Yes...when I looked last, probably a year ago it was awful. Too bad we can’t build a twitter battle for one week of the “good guys”...we could all say the same thing, like “I support President Trump”...surely Twitter won’t ban us for that.

It could very well be. When General Mattis resigned he wanted to remain at his post until the the end of February 2019 and Trump booted him on December 23. if Mattis had stayed till the end of February Trump would’ve had his hands tied for over 2 months before he could act.
I think he do it can via NDAA. Anyways, we have seen CICs authorize many U.S. troops deployments overseas in war zones (building all sorts of structures, airstrips, military bases) w/o congressional approval. True, they haven’t done it inside US for quite a while. I think you would have to go back to the U.S. wars with the Indians, and maybe Pancho Villa in SW US/Mexican border. And of course, the biggest example is CW 1.
The problem for the Dems is that as they and the media create chaos on all fronts, Trump will have a greater incentive to invoke emergency powers. I hope Trump gets a loyal defense secretary.

I keep hearing that 75% of the government is already funded. Anybody know for how long? I think its only until February 8th. When that expires, it will allow the President to have even more leverage to get funding for the wall. San Fran Nan, lets see how big your b$lls are then.
